Killer Mike has become a vital Hip Hop representative when it comes to discussions about injustice, police brutality, and racism. The Atlanta-based rapper has addressed those topics as one half of Run The Jewels, a guest on CNN, a lecturer at M.I.T, and a columnist for Vox.
Mike returned to television to once again speak on relevant social topics. He stopped by the PBS program The Tavis Smiley Show. The conversation included Mike and Smiley debating the idea of African-Americans offering forgiveness for racial discrimination.
After we reconcile, why dont I own any of the land? Why does De Beers still dominate the diamond market? asked Mike.
Smiley responded, Why does it have to be either/or Mike, and not both/and?
We did the and. When are we gonna get the both? When do both people get something out of the deal? Weve done the and. For the last 51 years in this country, weve done the and, Mike replied. What have you acquired in exchange for your blood, sacrifice, and accepting the Im sorry.
Mike then goes on to point out the Jewish community was granted its own country of Israel after the atrocities of the Holocaust and Japan was reconstructed with economic assistance following the destruction caused by the U.S. dropping atomic bombs on the nation.
All Im saying, as a Black man, if youre asking me for forgiveness, be prepared to give me something. Or keep your forgiveness in your pocket or take it to your church, said Mike.

Oh. Hell. No.
Its quite possible the Killer Mike...is Killer Stupid!
It’ll be on the agenda well before he leaves, and you know it.
Not interested.
Sorry "Killer Mike". I am all out of white guilt. The ones that should be apologizing to the black community are those in the black community who victimize their "brothers" with their rampant criminal activity.
Not everyone who is black in the US is descended from slaves (see barry hussein obama). With that being the case, how is it determined who gets what? Is is pro-rated based on your ancestry?
They love to tout this "400 years of oppression" nonsense. Well, the USA has only been a country for about 230 years. If you go from the time the constitution was ratified to the emancipation proclamation, you are talking about a grand total of 78 years of slavery under the auspices of the USA. Add 13 years of you go back to 1776. Anything prior was under the British crown.
What portion would the African nations who sold the slaves and the European nations like Portugal who transported the slaves have to pay?
Can you imagine a system where some black people get a payout while others don't? Imagine the internal strife and bloodshed. They kill each other now over a 'disrespectful' glance. Imagine a situation where some felt slighted that their neighbors got a big fat check and they didn't because their ancestors arrived post-1865.
On top of all of that, the grievance industry would have to be shut down. That alone is a showstopper.
Never going to happen. Not even under this clown in the white house.
Mike then goes on to point out the Jewish community was granted its own country of Israel after the atrocities of the Holocaust and Japan was reconstructed with economic assistance following the destruction caused by the U.S. dropping atomic bombs on the nation. "All I'm saying, as a Black man, if you're asking me for forgiveness, be prepared to give me something. Or keep your forgiveness in your pocket or take it to your church," said Mike.I'm not asking for forgiveness, nor will I, nor do I owe him or "black men" anything.
I'm sure Killer Mike and the rest would be very happy back in Africa and far away from Evil Whitey.
I don’t owe you anything. I do not ask for your forgiveness for something that I have not done. We have “given” far too much to so many and they have done so little.
Thugs want to be left alone so they continue thier criminal drug empires. The “Po” lice are in thier way
