Is this why Obama is sending in the Army to “train”on private land in Texas in July? Inquiring minds want to know.

Politico would be cheering on the front row if Texas left the Union.

TX Secession is nonsense.
Better solution is elect a Texan POTUS and send Obama to Jail.
They did that in Egypt, but in reverse order. They removed Obama’s Morsi and sent him directly to jail. Along with his terrorist friends. They are still there.

If it got so bad that TX did, 1/2 the nation would follow it out.

The US is neither a dictatorship, nor a democracy.
It is a Republic!
Say the pledge of allegiance, paying attention to the words, if you have doubts about that.

It’s always good to keep the possibility of Texas secession in the back of the minds of the traitors in DC.

And it’s good to have the discussion - because just the discussion raises and focuses the mind on so many issues....

38 percent of domestic oil produced in the US comes from Texas. 49 percent of the imported oil arrives at Texas. It’s more appropriate do wonder if the rest of the US would dare to secede from Texas.

I wonder if the military is now corrupted enough by the left that it would actually fire on American citizens.

All Putin wants is Odessa.
He wants to complete the pair.

Texans want to secede because they are all Vlad Putin fans and he has their ear. Yeah.....RIIIIIIIIGHT!

Exactly. 30 years ago, let’s remember, no one in their right mind thought the USSR or Yugoslavia would ever break up. History has a way of sandbagging us. Right now, it appears that the United States is slowly coming apart at the seams. You already have 2 Americas. The secular America of the northeast, mid-Atlantic/Rust Belt and Pacific Coast; the traditional America of the Southeast, Texas and most of the Midwest and mountain West. It’s a classic example of what divorce lawyers call irreconcilable differences. The USA is more divided than at any time since 1865 (and yes I lived throught the 1960s, but then the divisions were only over 2 big issues, Vietnam and black civil rights). Hopefully, if separation does come, it’ll be peaceful.

When I was in high school in the late 70's, I had friends of Croatian and Serbian ancestry who all told me that once Tito died Yugoslavia would come apart at the seams.

Exactly. 30 years ago, lets remember, no one in their right mind thought the USSR or Yugoslavia would ever break up. That was sure our goal, and our hope for the survival of mankind. We did what we could to break up that evil empire and free those slave states.

Putin is one of those world leaders that makes Obama look smart.
Putin just doesn’t seem to understand anything about the world around him.

Secession now would be too soon IMO but don’t forget this is a fight for freedom and independence not unlike against King George at our founding.
First Step: nullify unconstitutional federal acts which by definition are acts of tyranny.
Second Step: prepare for fed cut-off of financial aid and financial independence from the feds which Texas has largely accomplished anyway. Cut state taxes and government and let the free market work it’s wealth -producing magic. Texas (is) and will be much stronger economically than the bankrupt feds.
Third Step: wait and see what transpires.
Forth Step: continue on. If the feds turn up the heat, prepare for political independence. Maybe start by figuring out a good-faith plan for the State of Texas to pay the feds taxes according to the 20% constitutional portion of the feds, maybe cut off IRS to Texas residents.
Fifth Step: last resort - secession but only after all efforts to stay constitutionally free within the United States. Make sure the Texas government is prepared to stay small except militarily. The fight for freedom is a worthwhile fight.
