All across the political blogosphere, you can read endless inquiries into the oncoming demise of the Republican Party.
As far as the intellectual elite are concerned, the GOP will be doomed by polarization. The top representatives have supposedly moved so far to the right that they will soon be a non-factor in national elections. The scary thing about this analysis is that it may well be correct. In a way. Because conservatives do have a problem, and it is that the country is moving slowly but surely to the left. And Democrats are way out ahead of the curve, dragging the populace behind them.
Hillary Clinton has already come out with positions that make Obama seem like a moderate. Positions that her husband would have opposed in the mid-90s. She feels comfortable taking these positions because she knows there has been a culture shift. The question is whether or not this shift is inevitable. Is there such a thing as “too far left?” It’s up in the air. A recent poll showed that more young Americans than ever before preferred socialism to capitalism.
In such an environment, it’s only natural that conservatives should feel concerned. But you don’t have to study the polls. You need only take a look around. We now live in a country where the right to free speech only stands when it aligns with liberal thought. Where businesses can be ruined if they refuse to bake a gay wedding cake.
Where politicians have no problem aligning themselves with criminals over the cops. Where it’s enough to simply say, “Yeah, we should have a $15 an hour minimum wage,” even if there is no economic theory in the world that supports such a move. The truly frightening part of this is that the left is ever in search for a new fight. Any conservative who thinks the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage will be the end of the LGBT battle is dreaming. Liberals need an oppressor to fight or they wither and die. So we’ll soon see where that leads us. The safe bet is that we are not far from politicians proposing “hate speech” laws, criminalizing any who might speak out against homosexuality.
In a worst-case scenario, we might see the legalization of polygamy. In fact, that’s not hard to imagine at all. Don’t count on the left to reign it in. They aren’t fighting for a better America. They are fighting against the conservative establishment that built this country. They won’t be satisfied until the ideals of the Founding Fathers are as buried as their corpses.
We must reign it in ourselves by getting behind cultural influences that better reflect the real America. Supporting films with a positive, wholesome message. Voting for politicians who can explain why liberalism is a one-way road to oblivion. And above all, demonstrating that conservative values are not synonymous with intolerance.
They make sense, that’s all. And that ought to be enough.
These students are so dumbed down that we will never recover, short of a world war or some other major disaster, which would possibly force these skulls full of mush to come to grips with reality.
......Or when they go out into the “real world”, when REALITY begins to bite them.

Younger voters are far too controlled by social media, leftist influences in academia and a general preference for socialism. As such, I believe the country has seen its best days. The decline is well underway, and the only hope now is to salvage a part of it that still is populated mainly by those who cherish freedom... but I don’t see that happening.
America is slowly but inexorably dying. But she had a marvelous run!

The ‘reality’ can keeps getting kicked down the road of life facilitated by gov’t handouts, living in Mom/Dad’s basement, and no shame in society for being a perpetual child - drifting aimlessly throughout life.

and I was lucky in that I grew up during the Reagan Years and saw how good this country.
When the get out into the real world they ae going to insist on help and bailouts. And they will want the rich and corporations to pay and be destroyed.
The whole thing is going to eventually collapse and die like the way the Soviet Union and East Bloc did. You can already see this happening with the so called social democracies in places like Italy, Greece, Spain, France, and Portugal that all suffer from appallingly high unemployment and face big time credit crunches. Even Sweden greatly cut back it’s big government policies due to such issues.
My dad had a couple of coworkers back in the 1970s who had emigrated to Canada from Poland at the time and they told him and others (a bit before Reagan, Thatcher, and Pope John Paul II were on the scene) that the Soviet system was sooner or later going to collapse and die, simply because people in Poland and elsewhere in the East Bloc could easily see all sorts of resources being consumed and spent just to prop the USSR. Many are going to take it on the chin one way or the other when the whole thing comes apart, but I think it is going to be particularly nasty for those who really depended on the free lunches and handouts. I try to think of this whenever I see the bullying and generally very nasty, brutish behaviour on the part of the left leaning activist types.
I was a young adult during that time... that was America's last great era.
And the legalization of pedophilia. They're already coming out of the shadows demanding rights.

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture—education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [”]united force[”] to solve economic, political or social problems.
