It’s part of a general beat down of masculinity, which always begins with fatherhood.

The teary males (one with a slight lisp, of course) at the end of the ad is a nice touch ...

The attempt to expropriate Father’s Day by injecting these little anecdotes is insidious and, I think, malicious as well.

yes, this little gem of a commercial oozed malice from start to finish...as most do today, so as to impact the soft brained crowd issuing from the colleges...

I wanted to strangle that one guy that starts blubbering over it...but that’s just myself; I detest men emoting in public...

Man, I have been fighting that battle for three or four decades. Especially when it comes to negative emotional displays such as anger. Public emotional displays are indulgences at best, manipulations at worst and manipulation sickens me.

"It's OK to cry." No. It is not. Not in public and not even in private in front of your kids, who need a rock under those kinds of circumstances. You show you're genuinely sensitive by being thoughtful and kind in your actions, and not by putting on a frigging display.

yes, little good comes from anger...and it’s seemingly impossible to control, as I know only too well from sad experience...
