Placing additional burdens on the exercise of a right is the definition of infringement.

As long as we’re at it, we should require everyone to have “Thug Insurance”... just in case we decide to engage in government-approved, violent demonstrations.

Hey lady, remember the 2nd Amendment?
Those rights shall not be infringed upon. Most guns are owned by law-abiding citizens exercising their rights under the Constitution. They don't need liability insurance anymore than Congress Critters need a pay raise.
Why not require criminals to have liability insurance and fine them if they don't? They're the ones that cause all the problems with guns. Leave the rest of us alone and do something productive and constructive with your time in the Congress besides trying to make it harder for citizens to own guns.

What about the thugs?
Will they be fined $10,000 if they have an unlicensed firearm?

Should this pass - which it won’t - then every licensed & insured gun owner should automatically have “open carry” rights nationwide, regardless of state law.

One of the benefits of NRA membership is insurance. This bill could swell the membership of the NRA to ten times its current size.
Interesting.
To: thomasryan
If you have a homeowner or a renter policy you already have liability insurance.

This is an assault on the elderly and poor minorities who cannot afford this “insurance” ( extortion). The elderly would have to chose between grub and medicine or self defense while the hardworking, hardworking poor will have to chose between food, rent and school clothes or self defense. Throw this Nazi ho in prison.

Maloney said in a statement:
“We require insurance to own a car, but no such requirement exists for guns,
The results are clear, car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade,
but gun fatalities continue to rise.
-
And no one bothered to ask how having liability insurance
on our cars relates to having fewer car fatalities?

Amend it to require slander and libel insurance for speech. It would become illegal to speak or write in any way without buying insurance first.

I notice since Fergueson, MO the gun control crowd has been a lot quieter on the “only police should have guns” angle.
