The Satanists were apparently waiting for the outcome of a court decision determining the fate of the existing Ten Commandments monument. That decision came down in March. Note last paragraph in this Reuters story

Judge Allows Ten Commandments Monument To Remain At Oklahoma Capitol

By Heide Brandes

OKLAHOMA CITY, March 10 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge dismissed a case on Tuesday filed by an atheist group that was seeking to remove a Ten Commandments monument from Oklahoma State Capitol grounds, saying the plaintiffs failed to show standing to bring the suit.

The 6-foot-tall stone monument, paid for with private money and supported by lawmakers in the socially conservative state, was first installed in 2012, prompting complaints that it violated the U.S. Constitution’s provisions against government establishment of religion.

“The Court finds that Plaintiffs have failed to establish standing and therefore the Court lacks jurisdiction to decide this action,” U.S. District Judge Robin Cauthron wrote.

Defendants argued that the suit filed by New Jersey-based American Atheists Inc failed to show that the group had been injured by the installation of the monument.

“This is another victory for the State of Oklahoma and one more affirmation that the Ten Commandments monument can remain on display at our State Capitol,” Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt said.

American Atheists President David Silverman said, “I want to be clear about this: We have a religious monument, placed on government property, by government mandate.”

Lawmakers have argued that the monument was not serving a religious purpose but was meant to mark a historical event.

This opened the door for other groups, including Satanists and the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, to apply for permission to erect their own monuments on Capitol grounds to mark what they say are historical events.

I’m not sure Wiccans really know what they’re practicing because there doesn’t appear to be any line that carried it down through the ages.

Most of what they practice was made up in the last 30 or 40 years.

"The message behind Baphoment is a reconciliation of the opposites, not this call to arms of one against one but a merging of the two. That's part of the reason that it can only exist standing next to the Ten Commandments. That's part of the message. We wouldn't want to proselytize as a single voice in the public square."

This would only make sense to a lunatic.

Well, they can try the thumb in your eye at Christianity all they want. But the fact remains that Satan is an ankle-biter whose destiny is sealed, no matter how much barking and yapping he does here and now.

And the same goes for his lapdogs.

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.

Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure (and) which insures to the good eternal happiness, are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments.
Charles Carroll, signer of the Declaration of Independence

§ 1868. Probably at the time of the adoption of the constitution, and of the amendment to it, now under consideration, the general, if not the universal, sentiment in America was, that Christianity ought to receive encouragement from the state, so far as was not incompatible with the private rights of conscience, and the freedom of religious worship. An attempt to level all religions, and to make it a matter of state policy to hold all in utter indifference, would have created universal disapprobation, if not universal indignation.
Joseph Story - Commentaries on the Constitution

Cordially,

"This monument of Baphomet will hereafter be recognized as a central icon for the continually growing populations of Satanists, secularists, and advocates for individual liberty who refuse to bow to the arbitrary authority of archaic edicts, and refuse to accept their marginalization at the hands of thinly veiled theocrats. Ironically, if belief in this thing was not so widespread by those who claim to despise it, there would be no Satanic Temple or Satanists to make it an issue.

“Can they make a statue that has the likeness of my Mohammed cartoon?”

I figured it would be a likeness of Hillary or Obozo, but Mohammed would do.

I suggest the Satanists ring this idol with 24/7 surveillance cameras and pay someone to monitor it, and loudly advertise same.

IMHO, it will not last long otherwise.

These fools have no idea what they are messing with. Search YouTube for stories about Satanists who died, went to Hell, and then were revived. There are a LOT of them...

I agree. It's just that "theoretically" Wicca can trace itself back to druids or mid-wives, or whatever from many centuries ago. That's BS, but it's what they tell themselves. In fact, it's a 20th century phenom trying to act like something primitive. But the Satanism thing can't even make that attempt. It's basically the creation of Anton LaVey from the 1960s. He was a messed up dude who wanted to get laid. It's nothing like a religion.

“true, but our laws are also based on freedom of religion, as offensive as the religion may be.”

I don’t think our Founders envisioned freedom of religion to be a shield for satanism. It is just not possible. They outlawed a tenet of Mormonism - multiple wives.

The pudding thickens as not a few scholars believe that the word Baphomet is a corrption the word Mahomet. Occultist Aleister Crowley (1875-1947), described in the press of his time as "the wickedest man in the world," took the name Baphomet as his alias. The obvious statement in this statue of Baphomet is that the Satanic cabal go after the children. That's no surprise. The Democratic Party, no longer a political party but a death cult, have moved their diabolical agenda and into the highest levels of the U.S. government by way of the ritual murder of 60 million children and counting. Ever wonder why abortion is the prime litmus test for Democrats? It's in the blood sacrifice of the innocent. Just ask their mastermind, that profoundly influential servant of evil, Aleister Crowley.
