The "Reset"
personal conversation | 10 May 2015 | Me

Posted on 05/10/2015 10:35:13 AM PDT by BlueNgold

I recently had a conversation with a good friend.

Active duty O6. Recently completed a major command tour. Now the operations officer for a significant regional command.

His words have set with me in a rather heavy way...

He said it's not a matter of "if" a 'reset' happens, it's just a matter of when.

He believes the military and civil authorities in many places will be divided and that many will be surprised where loyalties actually are found when men are finally faced with a choice of liberty over tyranny.

He explained that he honestly believes that leaders of the type currently viewed with some significant disdain, both military and civilian, will find their backbones. Politicians and pragmatists, seen as enablers, will stand and stand tall.

He was very matter of fact. He is not a conspiracy theorist. He was just commenting on where he sees the world heading.

He knows where he will stand, and his point was simply...

If it happens in your lifetime, you should know in advance where you will stand. Depending on where you live, the time to choose may be a narrow window.

I've waited months to post on this conversation...

Providing some separation of time and place.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist myself, but I do believe the current economic and political path this country has been following is unsustainable. I hope and pray it is people at the ballot box who turn the tide, and at least point us in a better direction.

Ironic, because I had a conversation with a policeman - in a public place, with many people in earshot - that suddenly veered off in precisely the direction you describe.

It made me uncomfortable, I have to admit.

A lot of people will have a better time deciding where they stand if they keep asking themselves where they will stand.

A lot of folks who treat it capriciously will surprise themselves.

Be ready to make toughoal choices.

I believe that, given the overwhelming government corruption, that the reset will come from the military.

That is where the remaining shreds of morality and patriotism lie.

‘Decadent’ has been appropriated by ad men to mean something luxurious ie sinfully indulgent.

But a nation with $243 trillion in structrual debt whose media, society and government insist instead on concentrating on skin color and mental illness vis-a-vis mutilation of one’s genitals and using the wrong bathroom is decadent by the proper definitionof the term.

Three neighbors strongarming $100 from a fourth neighbor is robbery; 10,000 people strongarming $1,000 each from 1,000 other people is called taxation. But the proceeds from taxation have been abused and squandered. The methods of taxation have steered straight into tyranny. And, perhaps worst of all, the beneficiaries of taxation cannot stop themselves from trumpeting their own inherent brilliance and goodness while targeting anyone who complains for destruction.

I think most who read here know this is probably our last presidential election of any consequence. If the Democrats only need 6 or 7 states (or that many states will decide the election) that’s not very encouraging. I’m not giving up hope but the odds are not in our favor.

This is all a lot of BS—the US is not so fragile that we are at risk of a coup—military or civilian. Over the history of our country, you can see every generation making the same doomsday-like predictions. The pendulum swings back and forth, but the nation remains healthy. I have no doubt we’ll recover from Obama, the lawlessness of rioters and looters will eventually reach their max once their neighbors say enough. I worry more about immigration which erodes our great nation with illegal aliens who bring nothing to the table except a disdain for our laws, a drain on our resources, and put Americans out of work. The spread of Islamic cult is also a problem we face, but whether America stands or falls, is ready or needs a coup or revolution, No. Such talk is craziness and way, way outside the mainstream. Besides, it is treason and a line no one should cross.

Its not a tough decision.
I just hope this “reset” happens while I’m still young enough to make a difference. My friends and I all have liberty flowing through our veins. My liberal neighbors, not so much.
Last year my wife threw a neighborhood birthday party for my young daughter. The beer was flowing freely and a discussion among us men turned political. My neighbor, a mexican american like me, turned the conversation to how unjust this country is. Mind you, he’s a professional who makes $200,000 plus. This country has afforded him a very comfortable living. This is a guy who literally waded across the Rio Grande.
He thinks our 2nd amendment is absolutely ridiculous and that if he were in charge he would throw the entire constitution out the window and bring this country “into the present”. The constitution is BULL$HIT! His exact words.
This piece of shits views represents a lot of mexicans Ive talked to who are flowing across the border. I know a reset would be very painful and very costly (lives wise) but I think it has to happen. The liberals in my neighborhood are pie in the sky utopians and are not prepared AT ALL for any interruption in our everyday lives.

I think the ballot box is no longer useful for making any changes. We have passed that line. Other methods are required to make changes now.

The Gods of the Copybook Headings - Rudyard Kipling

AS I PASS through my incarnations in every age and race,
I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.

We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.

We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.

With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."

On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "The Wages of Sin is Death."

In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "If you don't work you die."

Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

Which is why the military is being thoroughly purged and weakened. Lefties in power always fear the established military, in every country. They set up parallel “para” militaries and try to keep the formal military in a box in the corner. They know they might need it in case of invasion but they do not keep it strong enough, really, for that. Even the Russian Communists feared the military after 1921 and their fears were ultimately found to be justified. Our own lefties from Carter on,, have made it a major policy to eviscerate the military. Clinton and Obama have both engaged in massive purges. CLinton’s purge cost us years and many deaths in Iraq until the lower level officers and sergeants with savvy and ability bubbled to the top. The Surge was incidental to that. The added manpower did not change the direction but it made the capable command’s job a bit easier and shorter.

I’ve taken note the past few months who in my neighborhood has guns and types. I’ve also taken note who are the antigunners and who can I trust.

“Leaders of the type currently viewed with some significant disdain.” By whom, which side? That would be important to clarify.
