Regarding free college, note that President Thomas Jefferson had the same idea, but with one major constitutional difference than the way that vote-buying Democrats want to implement the idea.

"The great mass of the articles on which impost is paid is foreign luxuries, purchased by those only who are rich enough to afford themselves the use of them. Their patriotism would certainly prefer its continuance and application to the great purposes of the public education, roads, rivers, canals, and such other objects of public improvement as it may be thought proper to add to the constitutional enumeration of federal powers [emphasis added].” —Thomas Jefferson: 6th Annual Message, 1806.

In other words, since the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to tax and spend for intrastate public schools, Jefferson had indicated that the states need to amend the Constitution for that reason before Congress can do so.

But the states need to clean up the federal government before attempting free schooling if they choose that option. This is because if voters don’t peaceably exercise their voting muscle to force the feds to clean up their act then the feds will require the schools to comply with ungodly, socialistic regulations before receiving such funding as the corrupt feds are now requiring in order for the schools to receive unconstitutional federal funding.

Solutions to this problem:
* Cut back on college bureaucracy to less than 1 admin per 200 students.
* End all tenure contracts. There should be no such thing in colleges.
* End publish or perish as a decision making criteria except in STEM. It pulls good teachers out of the classroom to do mostly useless research.
* Eliminate the women’s studies and fluff classes.
* Parents need to stop sending kids to go on tours of colleges around the country, when kids decide to go to a 20K a year school out of state instead of the 10K a year program in town. Doubling the price because the campus is nice is STUPID.
* Apply academic standards. If you need a year of remedial courses to attend college, you should go to trade school instead.
* Bring back shop class, car repair classes, add computer aided drafting and computer tech support classes to high school so that many kids in the middle graduate high school with an employable school.
* End credentialitis in hiring, where you automatically get a higher pay rate (such as for teachers) because you have the master’s degree.
