Sometimes the Drug War is so absurd we have to laugh. We live in a world where legal medical marijuana patients are criminalized, and men with badges trample the US Constitution.

Can you tell the patches worn by Deadheads from the uniform patches of drug agents? Below are thumbnail images cropped from photos of patches. Some are worn by Deadheads, and others are worn by drug cops.

When I worked for the TSA I was working the exit lane where I had to make sure no one walked back in without going thru security.

One day I had a late middle aged white guy start to approach me. He had on a leather panama hat fringed with fur as well as a leather vest fringed with fur also. His hair was shoulder length blond and he had a Fu Manchu mustache.

He looked like one of the cartoons characters from the “Furry Fuzzy Freak Brothers” from the 60’s

As he came up he didn't ID as LE but went “Psst” and opened his vest and flashed a pearl handled 1911 in a shoulder rig.

I thought either he was the dumbest SOB I have met in quite awhile or a really dumb cop. It was the latter.

I asked him to stay where he was which he did and radioed I had a man with a gun who I thought was a LEO. A supervisor came up and only then he ID’d himself as DEA at which point he was escorted in. What a maroon

It has to be rough for those guys, always pretending to be someone they allegedly are not. I’ve often wondered if the many months, and even many years, of living an alternate life, with the majority of all interactions being with elements of our society that are less than desirable, and then using the same drugs (part of the undercover identity) that they are out to remove from circulation, MUST have a horrible effect on their personalities as well as their physical health.
