I don't know which breed is the smartest but I know for certain the stupidest: the Lhasa Apso. I've had two for 15 years and I am amazed that they remember how to breathe. It took me two years to house train those idiots and even then, they still sneak a dump on the carpet at least once a week.
"Lhasa Apso" must be Tibetan for "Stupid dog with hair".

They are very smart and I think they conspire to make their owners crazy.
