It’s us versus those who would destroy the Constitution and government “by, of and for the people”

The Civil War was the first major test of whether the Constitution and Lincoln’s vision of a government, “of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth,” were true, noble and worthy aspirations of man in a new relationship with government or merely words that politicians said but really didn’t mean. The chasm between those who would continue and advance slavery and those who held dear the idea that all men are created equal became so great that the only possible resolution to the crisis was an armed conflict with blood running on our soil.

Now 150 years later we find ourselves in a similar situation. We the people who built America and love America and her ideals are under siege from the political descendants of those who hated those ideals and their offer of freedom for all. The lines were a lot clearer then. We knew who the bad guys were because they wore different uniforms than we did. That’s not the case today. Far too many enemies are wearing our uniform.

Yes, of course Democrats want to erase our borders and break the law registering illegal aliens so they will vote Democrat forever; but it has become increasingly difficult to tell “friend” from foe.

As we prepare for this coming next test of the ideals our country is built on, our problem is figuring out who IS on our side because we already know who IS NOT.

The economic power of American exceptionalism is such that...

What we should do is just show up in DC. No permits, no permission, just show up with pitchforks and axes.
But of course you won’t see that because Republican Conservatives are lazy and make excuses as to why they can’t come. I’ve had enough and I see no way out of this clusterfu&k without us taking our own action but as always, sit back relax, take a toke and have a beer. Everything’s good.

FReepers should go to the linked article and the comments of Michael Shaw which include a major excerpt from Lincoln’s First Inaugural Address (3/4/61) one month and eight days before the invasion of the South.

One also might remember that Ol’ Abe was the first president who took a direct assault on the Constitution with his anti,”habeus corpus” actions. Of course he was not the last but he did set a precedent.

[[It’s us versus those who would destroy the Constitution and government “by, of and for the people”]]

pssst- they’ve already done it- they have bullied the GOP into the corner sucking hteir thumbs- they have bullied the supreme court, they have bullied Christians and conservatives into complacency-

EVEN IF Ted were to win- I think you will see republicans in both house and senate opposing him on practically everything he proposes- and I’m basing this off the FACT that republicans have pretty much sided with the president on everything- giving him whatever his heart desired- while trotting out to the cameras and shaking their heads to make it appear like they opposed him- and also based on the fact that the rinos in government eat their own whenever they oppose any of dear leader’s edicts

I hope I am wrong- but I fear the party is lost- The ONLY way I see Ted being effective, thanks to the traitors who call themselves ‘re[publicans’ these days, is if Ted does everything by executive order, because it’s fairly evident he’s not going to get much support from rinos

Apparently that is what it means ot be president these days- do everything by executive order- however, IF a republican is forced to do things via EO- expect the msm to howl so loud that the ‘supreme court is forced ot step in and reverse’ his executive orders

What a country we’ve evolved into!
