make sure you hit a vital organ. Theyre known to charge when wounded! Yes, that's it. I couldn't quite remember the second sentence.

Ernie Pyle was a top-notch war correspondent but not a cartoonist. Methinks you are thinking of one of the "Willie & Joe" cartoons by Bill Mauldin. Yes, you're quite right. Thanks for the correction. It was Bill Mauldin, who was a very good artist, and as funny as the best in the business today.

The body in the third cartoon is Poland. Unless you have bothered to read history, even now few people know that when Germany invaded Poland, they left the eastern part to be taken by the Soviet Union. There are many stories about mutual friendship and cooperation between the Gestapo and the NKVD in hunting down Polish resistance groups.

Nah, it was Bill Mauldin: Willie and Joe. Had a paperback of his cartoons.
IIRC, Willie has a flashlight on the rat, Joe has the .45 inches from the rat's head. The caption went like:
"Aim between th' eyes Joe, sometimes they charge when wounded".

One of Mauldin's most biting cartoons (there were many) was some fat officer stopped with his jeep admiring a mountain vista. He tells his driver:
"Magnificent view! Is there one for the enlisted men?"

Hitler defeated Germany. He was a moron.

There’s one where after WWI it showed a drawing “Kilroy was here” and after WWII someone left the same message, adding something to the effect that let’s not have us come back again.

That Stalin killed more people than Hitler is an historic fact and had me quite puzzled by our almost familial attitude towards him, calling him Uncle Joe.
Until I surmised that the difference was that Hitler was imperialist killing people from other countries while Stalin only killed his own. It’s a horrific rationale not shining a very positive light on humanity but it’s the only one that makes sense.

The difference is with the Nazis, we have all of those images permanently etched into our brain about the holocaust.
Stalin didn’t film his atrocities.

Now, I wouldn't call that being a stickler at all. That's what I would call an historian extraordinaire.

Stalin invaded and enslaved many countries while building one of the biggest empires in history, and he killed millions to do it.

Glad you liked it. I couldn't stop laughing when I first saw it. Hitler's reaction is priceless. The reality is that it was much worse than merely FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU........

I read that the temperature got down to as low as -145 degrees F. but the cocky Germans left Germany in June, 1941 with mostly lightweight summer outfits.
It was so cold that when the soldiers crouched down to defecate they died a horrendous death, their large intestines exploding when the ghastly 145 degree temperatures collided with their nearly 100 degree F body temperature the difference in 250 degree F temperature had their large intestines explode on impact.

Are you sure that that was by Ernie Pyle? He was noted as a an author and correspondent, not a cartoonist. Bill Mauldin’s Willy and Joe had a cartoon very similar.
