Rodenberry created Star Trek. Not Abrams. Abrams has technical resources to make his equivalent of fan fiction look good, for the time. That’s about it.
Spielberg is legendary in that his films have made a lot of money. But they are clunky, telegraphed and derivative; of little artistic value.
There are greater artists who are also liberals. So many good artists or creative people who are left.
Art transcends politics and great art is not political.
For example the greatest movie maker of the last 30 years has been Hayao Miyazaki. He is a leftist.
On the other hand, Frank Capra was conservative as was Disney.
The left has always tried to co-opt art for it’s purposes. It always creates second rate work that is stilted. The right does not do that.
You are wrong. All things are political. As Aristotle stated: We are political animals.
All art is political, although great art elevates the Soul to heaven with its beauty and harmony. That is VERY political and leads to Excellence and the Enlightenment—The Age of Reason-—very political times (and Revolutionary).
And all things which promote evil (glorifies evil and denigrates Good) or evil ideologies are evil and very political (It collapses Culture). And nothing is more evil and dehumanizing than Marxism (collectivism) (or more political/controlling) and any artist that promotes evil ideology is at best an evil genius.
Satan, the Father of Lies, is a genius, too, and always very political-—as are all ideas.
BTW, just watched Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Capra was very political and a genius and a moral Artist who never sold his soul to Satan. Spielberg sold his soul for fame and money, and his pal, Geffen (an evil genius) with his boytoys, is Satan incarnate. The filth in movies today corrupts and normalizes the most evil, demonic behaviors in our children, which will totally collapse culture in the end like it did the Weimar Republic.

The Art today, glorifies dysfunction, evil and dehumanizing behaviors which destroy Virtue (Excellence/Beauty/Harmony). Think of the unifying concept of homosexual “marriage” that our Courts are forcing on the minds of little children today, pure insanity, and our schools force “Pride” Days and “Daddy has two Roommates” onto 5 year olds or younger to normalize Satanic behaviors
