Refused to have an electrical one put on my house. Pay extra fee to not have one.

[[This means that the elite in California will be rationed to one ice cube per martini]]

The elite are exempt- they probably don’t even have smart meters on gtheir homes

[[- Agggghhhhh!!! sexual activities??? Maybe with a vibrator that pulls current like a hair dryer... (and how would they know you weren’t just drying your hair?). ]]

They would look at you though your ‘smart TV’ to see if your hair was tustled or not, and whether you are out of breath or not- simple!

[[but only from the standpoint of a utility company could brown out your home if they thought you had used more than your share of electricity for the day.]]

You don’t think that is coming to Californians who use more than hteir share of water or electricity? Gov moonbat and ilk are already declaring not everyone is entitled to the same amount of water-

RE: I don’t think there is anything to fear from smart meter technology. Yet.

That three letter word at the end of the sentence is the KEY WORD.

It has always made the difference to our freedoms when things first start innocuously.

when someone proposes another desalinization plant, the governor shouldn't veto it... If keystone can transport oil from Canada to Louisiana, why can't a pipeline or two or three transport water from where it is plentiful (great lakes) or Canada, to where it is needed??......Alaska has plenty water, ice, whatever...they could sell it like they do their oil!!!!

Complaints continued to mount as water pooled and wasted. The department, however, could do little about the wasting.

This is the CA mentality in a nutshell. It is a tattle-tale, I'm gonna tell the government on you type thinking.

I don't care how spectacular the weather is or how hot the women is. I'd rather live in Fairbanks Alaska than California.

Yep. I quite often pray that our Great Lakes Compact between the neighboring Governors holds fast! I can see them draining our lakes one day so people can live comfortably IN THE DESERT! (Not!)

Maybe with a vibrator that pulls current like a hair dryer...

Doing some research on mobile device operating systems at work, I discover the the "m" in "Symbian" is quite significant.

I hate to burst your bubble, but you are wrong. ALL Electronic Devices, be it a TV, Toaster, Microwave, Computer... emits a UNIQUE Electronic Signature. With Sophisticated equipment like a smart meter as a recording device sending info to a centralized location with the right equipment, You can see exactly what type of device is being used and when it is turned on and off. This is common knowledge and the technology has been out there for years.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe it.
It used to be "common knowledge" that the earth was flat, too.

Electronics emit unique signatures, true - and if you're inside the house with a spectrum analyzer you might be able to associate the signature with the appliance, over time - but from outside the home, from a box that really only senses current draw (even if at 15 second sample rates), identification ain't happening except for known phenomenon; a "hugh" current draw when the A/C kicks on.

Detecting a pattern to tell when someone is home, when the occupants are asleep (even then they'd have to infer low current draw plus night time = sleep, when in fact it could be me sitting in the library reading a book under a 75-watt bulb. No difference to the meter from a 75-watt bulb on the porch light) all that can be "learned".

All the rest is Infowars babble.

Whatever you do, don’t do what those back-to-the-land freaks do. Their activities are too complicated and take too long anyway.
