Until all the facts are in I bet it was a computer problem.
...or workplace violence.
That kept the cockpit door locked?
“”Until all the facts are in I bet it was a computer problem.””
Entirely possible the door lock mechanism was as affected by malfunction in computers as the plane itself could be. I’m not saying that was the case with the PLANE in this incident but a possibility with any A 320....
Other pilots at PPRUNE say that it would be absolutely impossible for this plane to fly itself into the ground with a steady descent at maximum speed like that. It would be like a driverless car deliberately driving itself into a specific mountain. Sure - a computer could do it if programmed that way, I suppose, but you'd have to be a serious conspiracy theorist to suggest the near-impossible.
It's good to wait to get "all the facts," of course, but the technical evidence is overwhelming that it was a deliberate descent.
It just might be. HAL took over. No Dave you can’t open the door...
I’m sure he could have opened the door, or spoke on the phone.
Then why wasn’t he yelling that he was trying to unlock the door? Or the plane was going crazy? Now that the info is out your statement is stupid.
Shirley you jest!
The "computer problem" locked the pilot out?
Oh boy...
