Sounds like a precursor to savings and Retirement account confiscation by the Nanny state.
Withdraw 25k from your savings or retirement account, big brother is gonna have you on his list of suspected XXX criminal activities and confiscate it all. Good luck fighting the judge who wants a new office or funding for a pet political project or the local LEO who want a new Full auto Weapon arsenal and a MRAP or two.
Obama just wants to spread the wealth don’tcha know...
Sounds like a precursor to savings and Retirement account confiscation......
It’s the “boiling frog syndrome” once again. Cold water, warmer water, even warmer water, boiling water and finally a cooked frog before he ever suspected it.
All that the ignorant voter leeches are interested in is FAIRNESS! It’s not fair that you had enough self-restraint and fortitude to save and plan for your retirement so if you have money to live on in your twilight years, IT’S NOT FAIR to those who thought relaxation, play, baby making and dope smoking was actual work and responsibility....and now find that the government check every months is all they have. They don’t even realize that that check is actually STOLEN money from those who are responsible and hard workers.
There's that. There's also the situation that a cash purchase made without an affinity card is not on your record.
Silver Eagles, which have an understandable cash value have spiked in sales this year and last. One can't help but suspect that it's the tip of the iceberg. Is it possible people are stashing away cash to have on hand in case access to ones cash is limited in the future?
I would submit that there are many things that should be bought with cash and without an affinity card.....cigarettes, alcohol, excessive unhealthy foods, slot machine and lottery "investments" to name a few. Anything that tags you as having a bad habit or addiction is not information the nanny state needs to have. With purchases, you also lead a trail of where you've been if technology is involved.
Paranoid? For sure. Do I have anything to hide? No. It's just that it seems to be a good idea to keep as much personal information off ones permanent file as is possible.
