You can't really depend on how fast stuff seems to load. There are way too many possible reasons between you and your destination -- some network related, some not -- for that to be meaningful as a benchmark. Go to
http://www.speedtest.net/DO NOT click where it says "START NOW." Wait until the page loads, and then click "BEGIN TEST."
