GOP power broker Haley Barbours lobby shop, BGR Group, represents a Russian bank that has financed a company that helped build Irans Bushehr nuclear power plant, according to corporate documents and lobbying disclosure records. The bank is owned by a secretive oligarch, Mikhail Fridman, who has met at least twice with White House officials in the last few years, according to visitor logs.

Could this be a strategy? Since it probably will be revoked by the next president -- after all, The Party seems content to let a Republican deal with the disaster it's made of the country and the world -- then why not let Iran think they're getting something when they're not?

I
*TOLD* everyone that we needed to torch that scumbag. I repeatedly pointed out that after that backstabbing they did to thwart the will of the Republican constituency in Mississippi, we needed to throw that seat to the Democrat.
But did anybody listen? NOOOOOoooo! The idea of letting a Democrat have that seat was just too disgusting for some people to stomach. Well how does Thad Cochran's @$$ taste now people?
Hmmmm????

He’s guaranteed to resign and Barbour’s kin will be appointed.

I’m not convinced the Party plans to win in 2016. It didn’t go all out to win in 2008 or 2012. It may be the powers that run the party are expecting Hillary to be President and are just hoping to hold onto the House. Based on the behavior of the Republican Senate, Harry Reid is still in charge so if they lose 2 or 3 seats and go back into the minority, no change.

We've all seen this one before:
"This land of such dear souls, this dear dear land,
Dear for her reputation through the world,
Is now leased out, I die pronouncing it,
Like to a tenement or pelting farm:
England, bound in with the triumphant sea
Whose rocky shore beats back the envious siege
Of watery Neptune, is now bound in with shame,
With inky blots and rotten parchment bonds:
That England, that was wont to conquer others,
Hath made a shameful conquest of itself."
Richard II; Act II, Sc. 1.
Everything old is new again.

I’d be surprised if Thad is able to find his Capitol Hill office without someone leading him there.

Hes guaranteed to resign and Barbours kin will be appointed. That theory was being bandied about at the time, and I shall not be surprised to see it confirmed. I'm still furious with Mississippi Republicans for voting for Cochran after they pulled that racist bullsh*t attacking the conservative candidate in the race.

Thad Cochran is “bought and paid for”...nothing less and nothing more. He’s swimming in a sea of corruption that surrounds him and follows him like a swarm of flies around excrement.

I voted for the Dim. The one and only time.
The ballot box doesn’t seem to work any longer.

I voted for the Dim. The one and only time. It was the right idea, we just didn't convince enough people. I keep pointing out that this tactic of whip-saw has been played successfully by the NRA for the last five decades, and now they have both parties fearing them and unwilling to anger them.
We need to make the Republican Establishment afraid of us. Constantly voting them in in spite of their backstabbing does not accomplish this.
The ballot box doesnt seem to work any longer.
I think the problem is multifold. Voters are mislead by the news, the entertainment industries, and by the colleges. There is too much fraud tolerated, (such as crossover voting in Mississippi and multiple illegal votes) and people who should not be voting (Non Taxpayers) are allowed to vote.
Yeah, it seems like the ballot box is broken.
