Brian Williams holds the values and ethical standards that characterize NBC news. They are proud to have him as their anchor and executive editor.

If you get your news from old-school "network news", you're not actually getting any news, you're watching a guy 'cause he has great hair. The Left owns the old-school "network news".
The Left has a post-modern "there is no such thing as Truth" view of the world.
This is an opportunity for the Right to step up and demand that the media and the government stop lying to us.
The GOP should take Brian Williams and use him as an object lesson for why Hillary Clinton cannot be president. It's just a matter of connecting the dots from: "it depends on the what the meaning of is is" to "I stared down the barrel of the RPG".
 Brian Williams is Hillary Clinton.
 This is a golden opportunity.
The real issue isn't the helicopter ride. The real issue is the Unemployment numbers.

Assuredly there's been some turnover in NBC News since 2003. So maybe nobody working on the program now was working on it then. But in TV you're always looking for ways to show rather than announce, so, if you've got a line like that on Brian's prompter, it defies belief that someone wouldn't have said, "Hey, grab that footage out of the archive." And then the intern comes back from the basement and says, "Um, it was somebody else's helicopter that got forced down..."Great point. Williams had somebody put that story into his TelePrompTer. And then he read it as if he was reliving extemporaneously. Whatever extemporaneously means.

It’s astounding (to me) that this clown has 9m viewers each night.

Posted something like this on an earlier comment about Williams. Williams, the NBC news anchor, will now be known as the NBC ‘nose’ anchor in honor of Pinocchio the great and remembered story teller. Williams will soon be elected into the Pinocchio Hall of Shame.

"Hardly anything on TV at the Bryan Williams level is accidental. That riveting account of death-defying derring-do with Letterman would have been worked out during the pre-interview for the show - in other words, the misremembering was painstakingly rehearsed. Maybe Williams is delusional. Maybe he is to anchors as Anthony Weiner is to wankers - a guy so cocksure he figures he can push it a little further each time." I can't stop laughing

“I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the president of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia. I have that memory which is seared — seared — in me.”

They should, but they won’t. I think we can be pretty sure about that. In many respects, the GOP is as phony as Brian Williams is.

Many reports seem to suggest he is paid between $10M and $13M/yr. Some indicate he recently signed a 5 year contract. I suspect that there are guarantees or severance clauses which would either pay him the rest of the contract or perhaps 3 years of salary if he is forced out. I cannot imagine that they would have written a morals clause in the contract that anticipated exactly this circumstance. So, he has probably made ~$110M in the last 11-12 years, could have a golden parachute of $30M for jumping. Why not quit? How would staying vindicate anything? You cannot recover lost integrity. The faster NBC realizes that, the better.
