After six years in office, President Obama says his basketball skills went from "nothing but net" to nothing.
"I’ll be honest with you: my game is a little broke, I've been a little busy," he told a crowd of students and faculty at Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis on Friday, where he touted his new plan to give students who meet certain academic standards two free years of community college.
"The risk-reward ratio starts shifting. The chances of an Achilles tear or an ACL injury is increasing each month, and then the satisfaction that I get from playing diminishes because I’m so bad. I think golf, likelihood of injury, much lower," Obama added.
Obama also balked at a suggestion that he play one-on-one against Tamika Catchings, a WNBA star who plays for the Indiana Fever.
The president is an avid basketball fan and played on his high school team in Hawaii. He traditionally plays basketball on Election Day and hit the court with former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen before his 2012 reelection victory.
But he's much more likely to head to the links for a game of golf — it's become a regular fixture on his vacations, and Obama sometimes takes friends or other politicians out on the course with him. Mark Knoller, a reporter with CBS News, tweeted in October that the president hit his 200th game in office, and that was before his Christmas vacation in Hawaii.
Obama's frequent golfing has drawn criticism from some pundits and politicians.

Broken, Mr. O, broken is the correct usage, not ‘broke’. I know most of your trained seals are too intimidated to correct you, but I, from the comfort of my swivel chair, am not.
He was a third string player on a prep school team filled with rich white kids. I don’t think he ever had a game, he just thought he was good because of his half-black background.
The school probably had to make a spot on the team for him, or incur the wrath of his mother or whoever was handling him. I doubt there was anything he ever earned on his own or worked for. Seems to me he had everything handed to him.
Maybe he was the “equipment manager.”
Maybe he should ask Tiger Woods for advice?
