Looking back, we might have been off when the Democrats didn’t pass a Federal Budget for six years, because now that think they are in “the game,” Barack Obama is swinging his ax at a very valuable program designed to help America’s wounded Veterans.
The provision, called The Veteran’s Choice Program and authored by Arizona Republican Senator John McCain, gives veterans the option to seek faster and in some cases better medical care outside of the Veteran’s Administration system. In many cases this provision offers the only avenue for relief from the very long waiting times so many Vets have been experiencing.
Nevertheless, Obama, a man who has consistently tried to make life more difficult for our fighting men and women, has announced that he is sending “a legislative proposal to Congress that would allow the VA to raid the program’s funding, now set at $10 billion.” His “fiscal blueprint” seems to be the same as always–stick it to America’s vets–and his plan will allow the VA to siphon off up to 10 billion dollars from the program for his own pet projects.
Obama hasn’t waited too long to attack the program – he signed it into law last August undoubtedly to help Red State Democrats running in close races. But now that the election has passed he seems to consider the whole idea expendable and not really something His Lordship wants to spend money on.

The boy hates the military. He’s more “into” civilian armies lead by Marxist and communist “DemocRAT” community organizers.
It will take cajones in the next president to undo Barry’s damage. Presidents rarely (if ever) rescind EO’s and whomever it is, providing it is a conservative, will be fighting a GOPe and dim Congress.
Between Barry and Paul Ryan the Vets are SOL.
What else would anyone expect an enemy of the US to do?
Veterans represent something Hussein 0bama will NEVER have - Integrity, Courage, Persistence, Patriotism and Valor.
To answer the question: The attacks will stop only when 0bama is GONE.
The Veteran’s Choice Program is a ruse! I got my card in the mail a couple of months ago. I had been waiting since May 2014 for an appointment at the VA hospital for an MRI of my right hip which the VA said I needed.
I called the number on the card to see if I could have the MRI scheduled at a local hospital instead of traveling 100 miles to the VA hospital.
They said I did not qualify because I had a local VA Clinic in my town. I explained that the clinic did not have any X-ray equipment let alone an MRI. And all they could do was administer shots and take blood samples.
It did not matter. I would be required to travel 100 miles for my MRI.
Obama’s attacks on our military will stop, eventually, and I will celebrate that day.

I’m still waiting for one of these budget wonks to name even one rogue or unnecessary govt agency they can bear to shutdown. It will never happen. They will never cut the size of govt. They will raise the age for SS and medicare and cut veterans benefits but never shut down any govt agency.
The Dept of Education is useless. We have state boards of education, local boards of education, well-trained, well-funded, and totally unnecessary duplication at the national level.
But they have to cut veterans.
