Some people pull the cart, others ride in the cart. All my life I've been pulling the cart and I'm tired of the freeloaders. So, I'm seriously considering that I should stop pulling and just ride in the cart (going Galt).

As a prepper, I'll soon finish my off-grid place. Well water, septic, solar power, wood stove for heat, never had cable, so no monthly payment stream,. I can grow most of my own food with a large garden, an orchard, chickens, and some hogs. Hunting is also good on my 22 acres. I can sell any excess for some extra cash, under the table of course. I'll also get a job with minimum hours to pay for what I can't produce and keep my income right in that sweet spot where I qualify for every welfare program out there. Since I'm near self sufficient, the welfare is just gravy. I should actually be able to improve my standard of living over a career of working.

The only thing holding me back is my ingrained Protestant work ethic. But then if everyone did the same thing, maybe they would see the futility of providing all this welfare. What happens when the producers stop producing?

Well if you are serious about being Christian, a philosophy cooked up by an atheist might not be your cup of tea after all.

It’s one thing to say you’re tempted. It’s another thing to actually buy it.
