Before reading this article, you should be warned, what this student was served at lunch is truly disgusting to look at.
A 15-year-old student posted online earlier this month the following picture of the school lunch he received:
The original poster wrote with the submission, "Complaining about school lunches? Here's my school's 'Philly Cheese Steak.'"
Recently, major changes came to school lunches because of the efforts of the First Lady, Michelle Obama. The USDA claims that "the new standards align school meals with the latest nutrition science and the real world circumstances of Americas schools."
It was only recently that dozens of teenagers posted their lunches to social media, specifically calling out Michelle Obama for the reforms she pushed.
Somebody needs to be taken out back and slapped around for hours.
Mine too, I sampled liferaft survival rations packed in 1942 while doing maintenance on the boat deck. That was in 1962. The packages even included cigarettes!
They have every right to throw this crap against the walls and walk out.
That is revolting, pitiful and disgraceful.
Meanwhile... here is what is on the menu today at the Obama Daughters School:
LS
Snack: Granola Bars
Tortellini Chop
All Natural Beef Nachos
Spicy Boca Nachos
Shoepeg Corn
Mexican Rice
Fresh Pineapple
MS/US
Soup du Jour
Super Bowl Salad
Quinoa a la Ranchero
Super Bowl XLIX
Halftime Chili
Spicy Vegetarian Chili
Cornbread
Roasted Asparagus
Potato Skin Bar
Fun Dessert
Possible, but definately not ground up Gitmo terrorists, becuase Obama let them all go.
I don’t know about the mess in the picture, but it sure helped improve the taste of C-rations.
I thought she was exaggerating, but after seeing this I believe her-Eewwwww!
Too heavy on the Mexican food.Hope no one complains like the idiot student at Dartmouth.
What on earth is a potato skin bar?
.
That would be my entry for a Doritos Super Bowl ad.
Kids at their school lunch table snapping selfies of their disgusting school lunch, then racing to the local store as soon as the dismissal bell goes off to buy and munch a big bag of Doritos.
A "potato skin bar" is a sort of buffet with potato skins and various cheese, sour cream, and vegetable items which may be put in the potato skin.
My friends in the service who had to eat those things far too often by their accounts claimed MRE stood for Meals Rarely Excreted. Apparently that dehydrated stuff clogs up the pipes if you eat it for too long.
Thanks——that actually sounds quite good. I would really enjoy something like that.
Nice for the Obama girls, isn’t it?
They would like the rest of us to eat slop.
.
Kinda like a salad bar, but with a bunch of tater skins filled with tasty toppings.
MREs are not all that bad, high calorie by design but not bad. Neither were all C-Rats bad.
The chow hall food I had at most places was not at all that bad for the most part. The best were in AF mess halls and when I was late in my officer career I did ABNCP alerts and the contracted food service was really good. Having spent four years as a restaurant cook and doing a lot of the cooking at home over the years, I am somewhat picky so it has to be reasonably good for me not to like it.
Looking more closely, that congealed glob is just that, congealed blood of whatever spawned that crap.
Parents pay top dollar to send their kids to Sidwell Friends School. They’re not going to tolerate fried crap in the cafeteria.
At the government schools, you do what you’re told.
The real problem isn’t that the government schools are serving fried crap. The real problem is that the government is controlling the schools.
Looks like what we used to call mystery meat
When we still had C-Rations in Vietnam, I had all the Ham and Eggs I wanted. When they switched to LRRP Rations (MREs), same-same with cornflake bars.
Rat? This is a rat burger? ...
Not bad! Matter of fact this is the best burger I've had in years!
