Embattled speaker retains position after historic defection of House conservatives.
The ideological differences between the establishment GOP and the partys conservative wing became more evident yesterday during the latest election for Speaker of the House. Hours before the vote, a dump Boehner movement aimed at denying the Ohio Republican a third term appeared to be gaining momentum. A fresh start often requires change, and I believe that change should start with the election of a new Speaker, wrote Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) on his Facebook page.
Change didnt happen. Boehner was reelected by a margin of 216 votes out of 408 votes cast.
The revolt against the status quo yielded at least three representatives willing to challenge Boehner for the job. Taking up the effort were two Florida Republicans, Rep. Ted Yoho and Rep. Daniel Webster, and conservative stalwart Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas. Gohmert frequently appears at events hosted by the David Horowitz Freedom Center and was a featured speaker at the Freedom Centers Restoration Weekend in 2014.

Can we start a new party now? I think we’ve gone long enough with this country being run by just one.

yes, let’s fracture the conservative movement as much as possible and watch it compete against the Democrats.
This war against Boehner was a tactical mistake, but good for the ego of the “patriots.”

The campaign to FIRE John Boehner was necessary ... Period.
Free Republics Bitter Kasserine Pass DEFEAT with John Boehner : WHY ARE WE HAPPY TO KEEP LOSING ?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3244193/posts
That thread wasn't designed to be a pity party ...
So ... a genuine "thanks" for the Segway here ...
Several months in the future "Obama-Boehner Event ABC-XYZ" will require a massive public-political action ...
Question-1 : Should Free Republic even consider getting involved ? (Yes/No)
Question-2 : "IF" yes ... how should Free Republic be "pre-organized" for an EFFECTIVE response
2-A) "Free Republic Action Teams" set-up in advance ?
2-B) "Free Republic Action Teams" set-up in ALL fifty-seven (57) state chapters ?
2-C) "Information Infrastructure" (Congressional Telephone Numbers, Rally Locations) already be set-up and ready ?
2-D) Free Republic "coordination" with other Patriot groups ?
2-D-1) Red State (Erick Erickson) ?
2-D-2) Freedom Works (Matt Kibbe) ?
2-D-3) Overpassses For America (James Neighbors) ?
2-D-4) National Tea Party Patriots (Daveda Gruber) ?
2-D-5) Overpasses for Impeachment (Roger Ogden) ?
2-D-6) Stop The Busses (Stella)?
2-D-6) Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Beck, Josh Bernstein, Jon Matthews, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Mark Davis, Joe Pags, etc.
2-D-7) Tea Party / 912 STATE groups
2-D-8) THE DRUDGE REPORT media interface contact
2-D-9) An "Action-Rally Graphic/Tag-Link" on the Free Republic website masthead ?
Only Jim Robinson can decide this question for Free Republic; after all he's the Founder and genius behind Free Republic.
"Thanks" Big Red Badger for asking the $ 10 million dollar question ...

With Obama Clashes Looming, Boehner Lacks Most House
In-Depth-Bloomberg-4 hours ago
Now Bloomberg reports, what Taitz reported yesterday: Boehner was elected with less than half of the members of Congress, 216, not 220 as Drudge and other media outlets reported yesterday. 30 Republicans, not 25 did not vote for him. Democrats put him into speakership by not showing up for vote. With only 216 votes of support he is vulnerable and can be thrown out on a simple motion from the floor to remove speaker.

You go ahead and vote for the same corrupt incompetent candidates the uni-party foists on you. Then complain when they stab you in the back.

Question-1 : Should Free Republic even consider getting involved ? (Yes/No) Yes
Question-2 : "IF" yes ... how should Free Republic be "pre-organized" for an EFFECTIVE response
2-A) "Free Republic Action Teams" set-up in advance ?
To do what, precisely?
2-B) "Free Republic Action Teams" set-up in ALL fifty-seven (57) state chapters ?
See response to 2-A.
2-C) "Information Infrastructure" (Congressional Telephone Numbers, Rally Locations) already be set-up and ready ?
Easy to do, and i think this has been done.
2-D) Free Republic "coordination" with other Patriot groups ? some.
2-D-1) Red State (Erick Erickson) ?
Don't think he's there any more.
2-D-2) Freedom Works (Matt Kibbe) ? Agree
2-D-3) Overpassses For America (James Neighbors) ? Agree
2-D-4) National Tea Party Patriots (Daveda Gruber) ? Hell no.
2-D-5) Overpasses for Impeachment (Roger Ogden) ? Agree
2-D-6) Stop The Busses (Stella)? Agree
2-D-6) Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Beck, Josh Bernstein, Jon Matthews, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Mark Davis, Joe Pags, etc. Mostly futile.
2-D-7) Tea Party / 912 STATE groups Agree
2-D-8) THE DRUDGE REPORT media interface contact Handled how?
2-D-9) An "Action-Rally Graphic/Tag-Link" on the Free Republic website masthead ?
ok.
Only Jim Robinson can decide this question for Free Republic; after all he's the Founder and genius behind Free Republic. Bullsqueeze. We can decide for ourselves. FR chapters and members operate independently of Jim Robinson. I'm not sure he'd even want a role like that.

Bohner and the GOP won.The question, after the beating they took, should be why the dumocrats stayed with Nancey?

Free Republic colleagues ... here's a proposal for a "Free Republic Action Task Force"
All it requires is (first and foremeost) Jim Robinson's "seal of approval" ...
and twenty (20) dedicated, intelligent, mature Patriots ...
NO MONEY IS REQUIRED .... isn't that wonderful ?
==============================================
It was observed today at Free Republic ...
They don't see how little money it takes to organize and activate a small group. And the idea is to start a "movement", which also does not take a lot of money. And there are a lot of disgruntled people who have some money to donate/spend who might love to be a backer of a movement. ==============================================
The 2015-01-03 rallies cost a total of "zero" dollars to set-up and organize and promote (with the exception of internet provider service and the monthly electric bill)
In less than FOUR weeks ... over 150 Facebook Conservative groups were invited, 2,000+ e-mails were sent out around America ... the organizer (a Facebook "newbie") attracted over 3,250 "new" Facebook "Friends" in less than three (3) weeks.
==============================================
Not being "snarky" here, just illustrative ... however, "naysayers" are invited to leave the DAMNED discussion at this point ...
Just go somewhere else if all you want to do is "bitch" ...
==============================================
Just imagine what could have accomplished if a "team" of fifteen (15) individuals worked together for eight (8) weeks (instead of the five weeks before the 2015-01-03 rallies) ?
That is "clearly" the approach for the next "event".
And ... if Free Republic were the "key" organizer ...
what if each of the ten (10) Free Republic coordinators were in touch with "five" Free Republic state chapters each ...
coordinating locations, logistics, etc ...
and items such as "follow-on" tasks (calling congress, etc) were clearly explained to everyone ...
with the necessary "information infrastructure internet links" set-up at Free Republic.
The necessary event "Operational Security" would be assisted if the ten (10) Free Republic coordinators had a special access code for the "Event Public Planning" links.
Free Republic "Coordinators Number Eleven and Twelve" would focus on "radio" contacts (Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Levin, savage, Josh Bernstein, etc) and "news" contacts (including Fox, Drudge, Blaze, RedState, WND, etc) ... respectively ...
Free Republic "Coordinator Numbers 13 and 14" would focus on inviting "high profile" guests to the "rally events" across the nation, including local conservative talk show hosts, congressmen, etc. ... east and west of the Mississippi ...
Free Republic "Coordinator 15" would liason with Freedom Works, Heritage Foundation, Ted Cruz, Jeff Sessions, Louis Gohmert etc.
Weekly status meetings could easily be done with "Go-To-Meeting"
Now ... how's that for a "back of the napkin engineering sketch" ?
All Free Republic needs to do this is 15-20 "trusted" and "vetted" persons ... and Jim Robinson's approval ...
.

You do not need my seal of approval. Just go for it. We’ve been doing this for over 15 years. Chapters and protest groups are formed at will all the time. They come and go. You do not need my approval to form a chapter or organize a protest group among your fellow FReepers. We are grassroots. If you have a good idea that promotes our causes and can get others to join you, go for it!

It’s a pyrric loss.
They should not tried to unseat Boehner unless they knew they could defeat him. Now where are we?
Rant all you want. It has weakened us.

To: Patton@Bastogne
so he says.....
I’m very active in the Tea Party. I thought this was a loss at its onset. It is now a loss of credibility for us.
The Democrats are our enemy. All our energies should be directed at them, not at party perfection.
