A dozen people are dead in Paris after Muslim terrorists attacked the office of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. The attack was carried out because radical Islamists were angered over a picture of Muhammad was published by the paper.
The Editor and Lead Cartoonist were among the dead. A total of 10 staff members were murdered as well as two police officers. Five more are injured, and the gunmen are still on the loose.
Charlie Hebdo has published numerous satirical pictures of religion over a number of years, including those making fun of Christians and Jews. These pictures did not inspire attacks.
Instead, a picture of Muhammad ignited the cowardly attack. At the scene, the terrorists screamed, we have avenged the Prophet Muhammad" and "Allahu Akbar."

How is it cowardly? It's evil, to be sure, but killing innocent people at risk to yourself just isn't cowardly.
It is cowardly, because they remove the ability for the victim to fight back.
Let them try and blow themselves up when somebody knows they are attempting it and is shooting a gun at them.
See how much that unsteadies their ability to blow themselves up in the moment.
It is most assuredly an act of cowardice.
Unless you are will to argue that killing yourself is an act of Courage?

Call it what you will but there are many hypocrites on this site.
How is someone correctly stating that Christianity is the only true religion, the only true path to God a hypocrite?

Don’t the French have Draconian gun-control laws so that only terrorists and criminals now have weapons? It seems the city of Paris has even gone so far as to dis-arm its own police force. Since the attack was by two gunmen, if there had been a few armed employees at the publication or some plan of building security the outcome may have been a bit less successful from the Islamic point of view. I know this is a hackneyed observation but really the French government is to blame for this attack. With having disarmed its own citizenry so completely amidst cultural conflict and massive Muslim/Islamic immigration throughout Europe, these attacks are a foregone conclusion and their tactical and strategic success all but assured, at least until political leaders bending over backwards to commit cultural suicide are removed from office. America take note.

Yes, Jewish people, Muslims, Buddhists, etc. all have a path to God through Jesus Christ. There is no other path to God or Heaven except through Jesus Christ.
Jesus died for them all and for me.
Now, do you find that intolerant?

OH, so you do support Israel even if the majority of them don’t worship Christ, is that correct?
Or are all the Jewish people that don’t convert to Christianity going to be damned?

Of course I do, they are the People of God.
Or are all the Jewish people that dont convert to Christianity going to be damned?
Yes, all Jews, all Muslims, all Buddhists, all Atheists, all Americans, all Humans that do not convert to Christianity, who do not become "Born Again", who do not let Jesus Christ save their eternal soul, will be damned it they end up dying in that state.
Once again, there is only one pathway to Heaven, through Jesus Christ.

Well, we’ve given Medals of Honor to soldiers who killed themselves by diving their plane into enemy positions or by throwing themselves on a grenade to save their comrades.
Yes, to my mind blowing oneself up voluntarily for a cause is most certainly not cowardly.
Now killing CAN be cowardly, as when you kill yourself because you can’t face those you’ve wronged or the consequences of your own actions. But it isn’t always cowardly, and especially so when doing so in the service of a cause, even when I disagree with that cause.
So were the kamikaze pilots of WWII cowards, to your mind? Misguided, to be sure, and fighting for a bad cause, but to my mind they were quite obviously superbly courageous.
The issue is of course complicated by the fact there are difference kinds of cowardice, such as moral cowardice vs. physical cowardice.
To: SoConPubbie
Well there you have it folks, SoConPubbie has declared all Jewish FReepers are going to be eternally Damned unless they convert to Christianity.
You related to anyone from the Spanish Inquisition?

I would argue that those who kill themselves in the service of Evil to kill others without giving their INNOCENT victims a chance for self-defense are cowards.

You related to anyone from the Spanish Inquisition?
This is your problem, you are jumping from a sentence imposed by God himself to an action by the Catholic Church that was neither condoned by God nor pleased him.
That is a false comparison, lacking in merit.
Much as you malign anyone who declares that Christianity is the only path to God. It is both logically unsound, and a slander because of the false associations you make.

You were the one making false accusations when you inferred that Jews would be eternally damned if they did not convert to Christianity.
Even JR acknowledges that Jews have a covenant with God.

I could be wrong, but I believe if you query Jim, I believe he will tell you that yes, they do have a covenant with God, but that covenant include them accepting Jesus Christ as the Son of God and their Savior.
I know they have a covenant with God, but that Covenant includes them repenting and accepting Christ as their Savior.

Oh, I don't need to "personally talk to God" to know that the Catholic Inquisition did not please Him. A careful reading of the Old AND New Testament and comparing against the actions of the Catholic Church in that matter will suffice.

Oh, BTW, there is nothing logical about religion. It is all faith based.
Only if your religion consists of your works. If you have experienced, personally, the gifts of the grace of God, particularly His real salvation that he has promised to those who repent and believe, then it no longer a religion of dead works, but of changes wrought in your own heart and life by a Living, Perfect, All-Powerful, All-Knowing, Loving God.
And yes, once you have experienced this "religion" in that fashion, you will see the logic.
