Can I offer the opinion that the substantial increase in survivable gunshots can be attributed to improvements in ER care for gunshot trauma?

If you have to get shot, do it across the street from Chicago's Northwestern Memorial ER. There are few places in the world where top drawer medical care and bullet wounds are so close to each other. The other nice thing is that, with the cost of gas going down, the costs to bribe cops, aldermen and judges are lower, in 2015 dollars, than ever. (As long as your target is Connected.)
