You may remember my earlier thread from last week.
My Uncle Billy has died in the last hour.
prayers up for all of you.
Prayers up for him and for his loved ones.
Don’t despair of his soul. You never know...Jesus might have made Himself known to your uncle in his final moments.
RIP. Condolences to you and your family.
I’m so sorry to hear this. My prayers are with you. May God see your family through with His grace and peace.
Sorry to hear this. Prayers for all the family.
So sad for you and your family. I hoped and prayed that your uncle Billy would pull through.
May God bring peace to your hearts.
Maybe he got SS and you can find it somehow that way? Or maybe through his bank, and then find the military records through his SS? That’s if his military number was even his SS number. Peace and calm to your family, especially your mom.
I’m so sorry about your family’s loss. May God strengthen all of you!
Thank you all again for your prayers and kindness!
My cousin went with her old friend to her home after this, so we did not go to the hospital. Rather, I came to my parents’ house to be with mom (my husband and son came this time, which is a good distraction and comfort to my mom) and talk all together via telecom with cousin later.
We have all started some efforts on making arrangements. Then, after I had asked the funeral home to check into his service and burial in national cem, we got a eureka.
Despairing of looking through tons of papers and books, my aunt called. My mom had asked for some photos of Uncle Billy that she knew were up there, and his brother Uncle Don turned out to have a good many. In the course of getting these together for their son to bring down (he lives with my parents), they saw a letter - it was to Uncle Billy in the service and had written his MIL ID on it!
So, I have forwarded that to the funeral home in hopes it matches VA records.
But thank God for our western relatives! This could be the key to getting everything wrapped up fast.
My sympathies, OLR, I had read about his fall. Please accept my prayers for your family.
Hi, thanks but no. My cousin did a lot of contacting VA and so on. SSNs were not used until ‘69, and he was well before that. They did not retroID either.
Luckily, per my last post here, we did find his ID, apparently!
Oh good! I didn’t know when they started using SSNs. 69, ok.
OK, you asked for it (and we got a bunch of old photos with my cousin returning home tonight, courtesy of his dad):
Your family is in my prayers.
Praying for the repose of your Uncle Billy’s soul and that God bless you, your mother, and your family.
My condolences on your uncles passing. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I believe your Uncle is with God now. RIP.
Thank you again.
There is just something about that photo. Maybe it’s because it has a quintessentially American aura to it, but there is more... a strong spiritual component is leaping out of it.
LTOS would surely pick up on it and better put it into words.
Your Uncle sounds like he was quite a fascinating and intriguing man. He has left you with many treasured memories.
May God lay His hand of Love and Grace on you and your family and give you comfort.
Sad news, prayer ping. Please pray for the comfort for those who will be mourning his passing. God Bless, trussell
Prayers that you will be comforted in your time of great loss.
In Jesus Name,
Amen.
