New York Mayor Bill De Blasio needs to resign. He has failed the city. And yes, he does bear some responsibility for the murders of two police officers in his city. He ran for Mayor on an anti-cop campaign. Al Sharpton is one of his best buddies. De Blasio's paranoia has him thinking his police are spying on him.
He's encouraged the anti-cop protesters and has lost control of the city. He's handed it over to them.
De Blasio tried to pin blame for much of the unrest on the press:
He said utterance of such slogans was disproportionately reported by various news media, “You’re part of this, too,” the mayor said heatedly to reporters this press conference.“What you managed to do is pull up the few — who do not represent the majority — who say inappropriate things, who shouldn’t be saying those things, and some who actually physically attack police offices.”
He went on in that vein for several minutes, becoming more forceful and shutting down a persistent reporter by addressing him as “my friend,” a phrase he paired with a death stare.Rather than convince, the tirade revealed. Like looking at an X-ray, we saw the real de Blasio. It wasn’t a pretty sight.
His heart remains with the protesters, and in spirit, he is still with them, denouncing the very police force that works for him. His passion for the anti-cop agenda is so deep that he wasn’t capable of following his own advice to take a break from divisiveness for even a single day.
The mayor’s intemperate performance was unforgettable, and unforgivable. Any hope that he would own up to the fact that he contributed to the atmosphere that led to Saturday’s bloody explosion was dashed.
For all the "peaceful protester" cries, Tom Maguire observes:
“All too often when our friends on the left stage a protest it turns violent. At which point, we hear explanations about how it was hijacked by a radical fringe and we are all supposed to be surprised. Maybe one day these leaders on the left will achieve a better understanding of their base.”
"Peaceful" protesters blocked traffic in New York City and in Staten Island. They blocked the Brooklyn Bridge and the Lincoln Tunnel.
Cops have been attacked as part of these peaceful protests.
The hammer attack on the police speaks for itself, but was anyone to block traffic, tunnels or bridges at any other time they would be promptly arrested.
That's not a peaceful protest.

The Mayor did say that in NYC, the protests there were “absolutely peaceful”.

The protest tonight in NY on 5th Ave is distresssing — in the face of the grieving over two murdered policemen, the communists are relentless. It is clear that the Mayor and Sharpton are intent on inciting riot and murder and antagonizing the police in NY to the point of anarchy. Why? Because Obama and Holder want the total destruction of American society and freedom.
