On the rare occasion I find myself in agreement with President Obama, I get nervous.
It just feels like a setup. Like someone's going to pull the rug out from under me at any moment.
But right now, I have to admit, I was very pleased to hear the news that the U.S. and Cuba are moving to normalize relations.

What good is fighting Fidel Castro in Cuba when we have Fidel Obama in the White House?
My priorities are found in the Constitution, and Friedman's "Capitalism and Freedom"
Where are yours?
“I am not saying sanctions work, but I don’t see a compelling reason to lift them. Appeasement doesn’t work and sanctions don’t, what is your solution? “
Nuke em from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.
N Korea is not in our sphere of influence. Cuba is. Its time to make a change. We already have diplomatic relations with Cuba via our diplomatic mission in downtown Havana. We can effect more change in Cuba if we start handing out the carrots in return for changes that we want. Cuba definitely needs to change.
In a few years this won’t even be an issue anymore. We are talking about a little island in the Carribean not Communist China.
Actually if you ask actual Cubans about Castro they will tell you that he is a monster who has demons in his soul.
Currently they are busy reading the parts about avoiding foreign entanglements, and not creating your own problems, why do you ask?
But your Plan is “Hope and Change.”
Did you see the PR I sent you?
Let's go over tonight and roast some marshmallow on the pier he is using to burn them alive.
Well its a done deal now so we will just have to wait and see.
The Castro’s will be dead soon. Just since 2011 things have started to change. People can have cell phones, they can buy private property and now they can get a license to start a small business. The US can help make things change faster. a lot faster.
There are a lot of Cubans sitting in Miami who would like to move back to Cuba or at least have a residence there and maybe a business. I think 50 years has been long enough to make them wait.
Don't forget the rice cookers.
Great to know FR is now filled with people that have such an attitude about a great liberal victory huh?
Senator Menendez (D)(and for whatever other baggage he carries) in this case, is more on the ball than about anyone.

Sad.
Yup. I really wonder why so many ‘conservatives’ lost their way. If they ever really were at all. Which seems more likely.
Maybe if the Castros do die off and the old order is thrown out, there could be another bloodbath of retaliations against the oppressive regime and all who helped it. But who knows?
Often the case when people are liberated from their shackles. All the self justifications people make to themselves and all the strawmen they hide behind aren’t proof against rope though.
No. My plan is Freedom and Liberty. What part of that don't you understand?
You don't see the illogic of your position? Avoid foreign entanglements, but entangle us in a boycott of a foreign country. Idiotic.
Not sure how one becomes ‘entangled’ with someone on the other side of a wall. Care to explain?
You say they are spelled out in the DoI and CaF. Great How will you implement them?
