lots of bad stuff in legislation; what is Omnibus if not damn near the same? Therefore, can the American people count on you to show some leadership and oppose the current omnibus spending bill that will continue to fund lots of bad stuff including Obamacare and whatever amnesty is pending? Sir, just demand that we follow the usual but now forgotten process of passing separate appropriations bills and let the Senate fail to act or let the president veto them. It is clear that the public will support the Houses actions if the reasons are made clear.
Well?

Is anyone going to stand up to end this crap? Probably not.

Gowdy comes across as someone who throws lots of red meat to conservatives while doing the bidding of the GOPe.

"Gowdy comes across as someone who throws lots of red meat to conservatives while doing the bidding of the GOPe." I'll take Gowdy seriously when he finally figures out how to comb his hair.

Not to the S.C. voters in his district that just re-elected him.
To: Resettozero
If that was the case we’d take him out just like we did Inglis.
To: perfect_rovian_storm
Got that right. We would do it too.
To: mononymous
I’m pretty sure Gowdy said he was disappointed in or regretted the 2013 shutdown or warned his colleagues to not go down that path.

Gowdy is a badass. He talks loud. He has a funny haircut and funny voice. A real wildcard conservative who plays by his own rules.
The same people elected big talking Lindsey Graham as well and Gowdy donated $2000 in 2007 or 2008.
I dont think Gowdy will ever lose a primary because of red meat antics.
Best focussing on Mick Menendez(R-SC).

Chaffetz used to oppose amnesty.
To: ObamahatesPACoal
It’s his pro-amnesty antics that get to me.

I could understand someone selling out for donors or some reason but with Gowdy, Rand a few others I think they just have big egos and think are the smartest person in the room.
It is not like they wouldn’t still raise millions without having to cave to the pro-amnesty donors.
Jeff Sessions has a 2 or 3 million that he never has to use. Sen.
Vitter has a huge warchest. Steve King raised over 1 million.

Voters in SC are not the brightest; they continually re-elect Lindsey Gramnesty.

Obviously, you are correct. But the same ones overwhelmingly elected Jim DeMint, who again obviously, disappointed the SC Unity Party in Columbia and had to leave the Senate.
You always seem to be correct on so many subjects, e-s. How do you do it?
To: Resettozero
I do not want to be ‘right’ on this, believe me.
It is deeply unfortunate that so many clueless voters are out there.

Yes, and it is also unfortunate that many FReepers have been unable to remember that in S.C., because of the same practices (State primary laws) than kept Strom Thurmand and now Lindsey Graham in office have not been modified significently enough to make a difference.
Meaning, as has been posted scores of times on FR over the years, incumbents that have the approval of the S.C. Unity Party leaders (SCGOPe-Dem) CANNOT be unseated for the same reasons SC FReepers have posted repeatedly on FR.
South Carolina Statewide and National offices cannot be influenced enough by SC conservatives to go against the SCGOPe-Democrat tandem and make significent enough changes in the laws that rule primaries in this State.
Complaining about how the deck is stacked against conservatives in SC and in other States that have similar unfair primary laws, will produce nothing more than an observation that complaining FReepers are unwilling to pay attention and to learn.
But, I admit, it is easier just to blame this situation on "clueless voters" when the ones posting such on FR choose to remain clueless themselves year after year.
To: Resettozero
The clueless voters are in several parties, not just the ‘Rs.’
