Don’t some states have a waiting period for something like being fired? Like you couldn’t get UE right away but like six months later?
If you receive a settlement, severance package or similar they delay based on that, otherwise you receive it after it is processed, which does take awhile. BTW, it’s called UI (Unemployment Insurance) within the government and businesses.
