Without The Brave there is no Land Of The Free. Thank you to all our veterans, past and present.

While serving in the Army (Germany, early 80’s) our Battalion Sgt Major took the NCO’s on a trip to a WWII US cemetery. He instructed us to go throughout the cemetery and find one name of a junior enlisted. We were to write that name down and bring it back with us.
When we returned, our Sgt Major told us that we as NCOs were responsible for training our troops to do their jobs and to stay alive. Now he could not say that we would keep our charges out of their graves, but we were to make sure that none of them were to ever say that they were not prepared.
A powerful message that has stuck with me and likely will for the rest of my life.

Thank you, I served in the Army, but have a number of good friends that served in the CG’s. With the drug interdiction they do they come under fire even when we are not “at war.”
