Coming after almost a week of speculation following a US airstrike in western Iraq, it now appears that ISIS Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has died. In a claim circulated through an ISIS website the leader has died.
The news come from Al-Itisaam Media, affiliated through the group, who posted on Twitter:
We will soon publish details about the killing of the Caliphate Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and the nomination of a new Caliphate for the Islamic State.
Last week there was an airstrike on a convoy of cars near Al Qaim, Iraq. It appears that Baghdadi was injured in the strike. Now the Islamic State is saying that he has died. News has leaked into just several sources so far.
It will be hard to get someone worse—more savage. If true—watch out as they will hit us for sure in an act of revenge. The war isn’t over.
If a major hit is coming, it will change this country much more than after 911.
The Caliphate did not die. The caliph apparently died but the office is yet extant.
Like 1000 lawyers at the bottom of the harbor?
A talking head with long hair on CNN said pretty much the following:
He claims descent from the prophet and he is therefore a major religious figure.
If he is killed, ISIS can replace him, but will have a very difficult time finding someone with those bonifidis, as it is his claim that justifies the existence of ISIS to muslims.
lol
