Hopefully it will be another Carville with a trashcan on his head night. That was one of the best ever!
The best was in ‘94 and seeing Dan Rather announcing the Republicans taking both houses and looking like he was about to cry.
Well, something strange has been going on tonight. PJ-Comix has posted a couple of DUFUs tonight, but for some unknown reason, they were pulled, with no explanation. (Weird, considering we have been posting DUFUs here for over ten years, with a ping list of over 1,000 FReepers, thus attracting LOTS of readers to FR.) Hopefully, this is just a one-night aberration. Maybe tomorrow PJ or I will try again. In the meantime, you can catch up on what PJ has posted by going to the DUmmie FUnnies blogspot.
I will.
Well this just sucks!
Strange, typically there’d be some form of an explanation, especially if there were multiple posts involved. It could simply be an administrative decision to ban humor and satire posts today, which I could certainly understand. But it should be explained.
Possibly too many direct quotes of the always-obscenity-prone DUmmies?
Too bad. I look forward to reading more.
Between this and John Semmens apparently being purged by the mods, something is going on that the owner and mods ought to address and explain.
Agreed. This site is as much about political information as it is political entertainment.
The mods screwed the pooch on this one. Not wise.
I thought about that when the first DUFU was pulled. Usually, when quoting the DUmmies using the F word, I use three asterisks, f***, and we haven't had a problem with that on DUFUs here on FR. PJ just used one asterisk, though, just replacing the vowel. And remember, PJ was just quoting the DUmmies, not using the F word himself.
But then the second DUFU was pulled, and then I'm thinking there's something else going on tonight.
Yep, I’m sure that’s what it was, now that I’m looking at the blogspot itself. Almost every quote in some threads, and like injuries in the NFL, if you count multiples, it balances out to over 100%.
Too many F* Bombs. I think the quote is 3 and those Dummies had around 3000.
I agree. John sent an email out explaining his censorship here.
Maybe the boss can explain these changes.
I’m not trying to make a federal case out of this. I’m just trying to explain to our readers why you’re not seeing new DUFUs here tonight, as we had planned.
Well, if it is due to the vile nature of the DU and their ridiculous use of the F-bomb, let that be explained.
If it is anything else let that also be explained.
I was looking forward to a bit of Schadenfreude tonight as only you wizards can present it.
For your threads to get pulled on election night shows some very selective moderating. I don’t recall this in the past.
If rules change, it would be nice to let folks know.
Thats all.
The last one was laden with heavily redacted “F” Bombs; perhaps that’s what did it.
I shall go to the alternate site. It wouldn’t be election night without the Dummie Funnies!
No change. The rule has always been no profanity. If a reader reports a profanity laced post, the mods are bound to pull it.
Example:
“Five hours before the election results started coming in today and the DUmmies are already cursing this election. DUmmie Drunken Irishman (not to be confused with DUmmie Drunken Former Bostonian) seems to be the resident “intellectual” over this with a THREAD displaying this bit of wit, “F*ck Republicans. And f*ck the f*ckers who f*cking vote for those f*cks.” Since there is going to be a Fast and Furious posting of DUFU editions throughout the night without further adieu let us watch the DUmmies curse into the darkeness in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, fortified with coffee for a possible all nighter DUFU blizzard, is in the [brackets]:
F*ck Republicans. And f*ck the f*ckers who f*cking vote for those f*cks.”
Same for posts containing profanities in the title or posts taking the Lord’s name in vain. They will be pulled if reported or spotted.
Thanks
