Makeshift Barricade inside Canadian Parliament |
Members of Congress and designated employees, acting on behalf of their bosses, can bring unloaded guns into the Capitol. Inside the confines of their offices, regulations set by the Capitol Police Board even allow lawmakers to load the guns. However, carrying the guns through D.C. without a gun license would violate local law.
People took the flag poles with the maple leafs on the end theyd make pretty good spears and said ok, if the son of a b***h is coming through the doors were going to make him pay, Edmonton MP Laurie Hawn recalled Thursday. Some MPs became attached to their makeshift weapons. From theglobeandmail.com:
Machiavelli summed up the mindset rather well:Some MPs kept their flagpole weapons as souvenirs.Everyone was taking their spears home, the MP said. Im going to frame mine.
There is no comparison whatever between an armed and disarmed man; it is not reasonable to suppose that one who is armed will obey willingly one who is unarmed; or that any unarmed man will remain safe.... - Niccoló Machiavelli, The Prince. 1537.
When I read “crude spears”, the name Britany popped in to my head for some reason...
And just who sets them there ‘bizarre’ gun laws in DC?
The D.C. government, which was given the power to govern D.C. by the Congress.
Who needs a weapon? Just grab Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Schumer, Sheila Jackson-Lee, etc. by the hair or b@lls (OK, I know, Schumer has neither) and hold them in front of you. Pretty soon, the perp will run out of ammo...and if he has a bayonet, no big deal.
It’d definitely make the elections more interesting, and the removal of all of that hot air from the halls of Congress might actually stimulate clear thinking.
