I remember LBJ was quoted as saying that Negroes would be voting Democrat for the next 100 years, or 200 years , or something along those lines.
What have blacks really gotten by voting so heavily Democrat??
One party takes them for granted, and one party hardly seeks their votes because so many are so strongly committed to the other party already. How’s that for political power and influence????

I would say that their reading of the signs of the times, tea leaves, whatever, is a lot better than most whites.
The presumption of the question is that the author, and other whites, either know better than blacks do what their interests are, or, that they can and should substitute their judgement for the judgments that blacks have made, and are making.
About fifteen trillion dollars in direct and indirect payments, hundreds of thousands of government jobs from which they can't be fired and for which they recieve incredible pensions after 20 years, freedom from constraint over their preferred lifestyle choices, among other things.
They'd be CRAZY to give up the Democrats.
