FERGUSON, Missouri There is never a day where at least one person isn't outside the Ferguson, Missouri, Police Department sitting or standing near an anemic tree, the only place for a bit of shade.
At night, the crowd tends to swell, and the protest grows more intense.
There are almost always two or three people streaming events live. You can hear them loudly sharing thoughts or giving a play-by-play of what's happening.
While their cameras capture live images, they call out what they think are injustices surrounding the August shooting of Michael Brown and the subsequent police crackdown on protesters in the 10 weeks or so since Brown was killed by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson.
The police are geared up with cameras as well. They wear body cameras, and any time officers approach protesters there is usually at least one officer with a handheld camera, too.
It's a careful dance in which protesters and police are trying to make sure they have proof if a law is broken or someone's civil rights are violated.
Both outside the police department, and roughly 2 miles east along the main protest route, where most of the imagery of the sometimes-violent protests has originated tension can go from zero to 100 in seconds on any given night.
Police can tally dozens of arrests a night since the city erupted. Among those placed in cuffs were journalists, clergy, a local rapper, a state senator, a St. Louis alderman and activist/intellectual Cornel West.
It's tough to predict the mood each night. On Tuesday, a small group of about 50 protesters caused no disturbances, and there were no arrests, police said. The next night, five police officers were assaulted with rocks, water bottles and a metal rod....

That sound you hear is whitey oiling up his guns and stockpiling food and ammo.
Was I so loud you could hear me in North Carolina?
The day the Ferguson P.D. vis a vis Darren Wilson was hung out to dry for doing nothing more than protecting himself from a thug who would’ve killed him with his holstered gun, every White officer on the force should’ve quit en masse. Why voluntarily agree to protect and serve a community that doesn’t give a damn about you and would just as soon see you dead for not submitting to a thug ?
These rioters are unabashed in their support for criminals, long self-admitted. Are they trying to get Obama to suspend habeas corpus?
No argument here.
Part of the master plan from the communists (including those in the White House) to incite a civil war.
Any idea when they will make a decision and report it publicly? My guess is it will not be before the midterm elections, but will occur right afterward, while the nation is still busy counting ballots, and exposing Dem voter fraud.
These days, they thinly mask their intent on “revolution” (Marx’s favorite term) as “fundamental transformation”. We’ve seen many “despotic inroads” over the past few years too.
Looting and rioting are the newly condoned Black Privilege, courtesy of our Affirmative Action hire President Zero. Got to fire-up the Base and generate some votes in the week before midterms...
If the police went home so would the protesters....
I've noted over the years that for the black community and low enders in general... “police” and Mt's are necessary on their stage. They've become dependent on them being there. It's like calling for “mother” when kids are fighting....they must have all “players” on their stage.
This is also why they speak out against the police....it's like hollering at a parent who's being “unfair” in a family squabble.
Ferguson is a perfect example of this as the people there “target” the police who they say are the problem for the injustice's done that they always refuse to accept as their own....it's always he said she said when there's conflict when police are called...they want the police to settle the issue like a parent would in someones home.
With so many fathers leaving their families at tender ages...the men and woman transfer the parental authority that isn't there to the police officers, MT’s ad even the emergency rooms. These have become the “parents” these people never had....and exactly why they must be on the stage of their tantrums and conflicts.....which is also why their issues always escalate til the police (mom or dad) can be called. This entire ordeal stopped the day it was made known the kid had stolen and pushed around a storekeeper. End of story....everything that occurred thereafter was the consequences as a result of that kids actions and decisions when he did what he did in that store.
The people there know that perfectly well....it stopped being about the kid long ago....what is going on now is the "attention" the adult children (protesters) are use to getting by having their tantrums....and they do so because it works....heck they even got Holder and Obama in on it!
Good question.
The supporters of Obama can never win a Civil War. They are unorganized, and depend upon handouts or theft for survival. Without a functioning government to feed and support them, their side will fall into anarchy and begin killing each other.
Justice for Ron and Nicole!
I bet they leak the info next week so there’s time to gin up the faux anger to motivate Dear Leaders Lazy Low Information Voters...
You may be right, but there will be blood.
>> Why voluntarily agree to protect and serve a community that doesnt give a damn about you and would just as soon see you dead for not submitting to a thug ?
Because they’re RESPONSIBLE. To their families, to their community, to the LORD, to themselves.
Which, when you think about it, is a microcosm of the responsibility vs. irresponsibility issue that affects our entire nation.
To enlarge the scope of your valid question: why work, why obey laws, why pay taxes, why have faith in government, when so damn many are worked up by activists to be lazy gibsmedats, and so damn many in government are corrupt to the bone?
Faithfulness and responsibility are the glue that holds a society together.
While they last...
>> leak the info next week so theres time to gin up the faux anger
All sorts of interesting scenarios unfold if large-scale (e.g. Watts-scale or Rodney King-scale) inner city riots were to erupt in cities all across the nation in the week prior to a national election.
I’m not a big believer in the “Obama is going to cancel elections” conspiracy stuff, but...
You’re right. But I submit if I’m going to put my neck on the line in such a capacity, I’d do it for a community that supports and appreciates what I do.
