Need Outlook Help
10/23/14
Posted on 10/23/2014 6:42:25 PM PDT by pabianice
I use Outlook 2003. I have just ended my subscription to Compuserve. I have my CS mail account loaded to my PC via Outlook. I tried to cancel/remove the CS account in Outlook and it will not let me delete/cancel the account. If I try to cancel or change the cs account, Outlook freezes and I have to use task manager to get out of it. When I try to send/receive mail through Outlook, Outlook freezes again and I have to use task manager to close it, also.
Can someone tell me how to delete this account? Thanks.

Thank you! Can you explain why this does not work from the Outlook mail manager/Tools and instead, freezes the computer?

Outlook and Compuserve still exist? That’s news to me. Do you still own a VCR and some videotapes? I think it’s time you came into the 21st century.

There is a typo in your post - nobody uses Outlook 2003 any more. You meant to say Outlook 2013.

there is no reason to delete it
just stop using it
email mail still COME TO you from that account, but just donjt send anything from it
eventually it will not have any activity
you may get emails there still that you want

I happen to LIKE Outlook, for a lot of reasons some of these others don’t like it. Microsoft offers Windows Live. It’s a free program that looks and behaves much like Outlook, and it’s kept up to date with current Windows software.

Hard to say without looking at it but it may be because you are trying to delete the active account.
