SHEP SMITH, FNC: Oh, my God. Doug, I appreciate it, but I think we both know there's no widespread panic across the country and we both know -- And I think we also know that if there is widespread panic, it's not based in fact, and it's not based in reason, and I think more than anything, those are just words that people on tv sometimes use.
But this is serious, in that two health care workers have died in Texas. It's very serious for their families and in West Africa where it is spreading and it is an epidemic, .....

Obama would rather be on Fundraising One or Golf Cart One because he doesn’t have to be bothered by that Presidencial office thing.

Shep doesn’t know what he was talking about, how should we? He declared the two nurses dead. He really threw “Doug” under the bus, calling him out for referring to this a “widespread panic”. The poor Doug was looking down at the ground and appeared to be speechless.
Saw that....what an idiot. The worst was Greg Gutfeld (no!) later praising the dumb display.
Shep, the flamboyant homosexual (as the attention seekers they usually are), has this TV set with massive monitors and people faking the action of real-time monitoring of “situations”. Totally over the top flamboyancy. Impossible to watch such drama queen antics.
He will never live down his Katrina reporting.
Simply disgraceful and disgusting.
Who is this Doug? I saw Shep doing his anti panic thing earlier but have no idea who “Doug” is...
Two HCW’s in Dallas died from Ebola? Really Shep? Shouldn’t you have had a breaking news alert for it? Or do you really NOT know they’re sick, not dead?
Another low informed news caster talking about and providing opinions on something he knows nothing about. The President, CDC, WHO, and every other idiot trying to not create by just telling lie after lie that must eventually be backed off of and start with a new set of lies.
Who the hell is Shep Smith anyway to be telling anyone what he THINKS is the truth about infectious desease.
Put your money where your mouth is, fruitcake. Slip on a paper gown and head into an Ebola patient’s room.
Doug is the Fox reporter in Dallas.
He is such a silly boy.
Hey Shep!
The CDC’s FALSE ASSURANCES OF CONTROL are “Not Based In Fact And It’s Not Based In Reason”!!!
I hate agreeing with Shep, makes me feel dirty. But he’s right. What do we have so far, 2 actual cases in America of somebody getting ebola here? Out of a nation of 311 million, that’s basically nothing. Auto-erotic asphyxiation has probably killed more people in the same time frame.
Shep the virologist...
What makes these people think they are experts on everything?
I've worked with viruses, have altered their genome, and thus know a bit about them. Although I am not too worried about this becoming armageddon, every epidemic starts out with just a few ‘index’ cases, and this virus could easily affect 100s if not 1000s or more if not dealt with in a serious manner. It is not Shep's place to comment in this manner. There are Ebola experts who are concerned. I would have to give them a bit more credibility than Shep.
Maybe he wants to say "Don't panic, but this is serious."
Even at thousands that probably puts it killing less American than the flu. It’s TV “news” Shep gets to comment on whatever he wants, and he even gets to be wrong most of the time. Notice there’s a big gap between concern and panic. Experts should be concerned, it’s kind of their job. The rest of us should be tidy, try not to play around in other people’s bodily fluids, we’ll be fine. The only people I want to panic are my bosses up in Canada, who almost closed the office I’m in during the swine flu panic (because when you look from Waterloo Tucson and Mexico City are basically neighbors), I’d love some extra time off.
Some lady interviewed on local radio this AM said ‘yeah I know “panic etc” but we’re talking about my kids, here, ok?
Case closed.
