Two months later, too many young men must still contemplate their mortality in the way of Ferguson.
The drive to Ferguson prepares me for Ferguson. Once out of downtown St Louis, county after county radiates a pervasive poverty: abandoned malls, boarded-up stores, homes in disrepair, the occasional fast-food place, gas stations and, finally, the Ferguson Market & Liquor store on West Florissant Avenue.
Around the corner on Canfield Drive, I pull into the parking lot at Reds BBQ. The owners have set up outside their establishment because a few nights before, protesters caused extensive damage to the restaurant in a show of defiance. This is two months ago, when the history books began to document Ferguson, before more than a thousand protesters came to St Louis this weekend to stand against the continuation of the polices self-named low intensity warfare against young black men. But in the August heat, I look around at the burnt-out buildings and the roped-off areas and I finally understand, fully, that I am in the midst of the continuation of the LA riots of the 20th century, where the beaten black male body has been executed publicly, in the 21st.
Michael Browns memorial is set up halfway down Canfield. The memorial is constructed out of stuffed animals, flowers, homemade signs. Hands Up Dont Shoot is itself memorialized on drawings, and t-shirts....

Our sons know they could be the next Michael Brown.
Why? Are your sons dirt bag wannabe gangsters that rob stores and attack police officers?
They could stay in school and then get a job......nah. They’d rather rob the few businesses still open in their slums and then blame the cops for arresting them.
Yawn.
The 'movement' has a shop-black campaign going on the side. One of their targets is Faraci's Pizza, terrorized for weeks and the home of argueably the best pizza in STL. Militants want to run the family out of town so a 'black' pizza parlor can open in its place. But I have to ask, where are all the energetic black enterpreneurs? Why aren't the boarded up storefronts already occupied? Where are the blacks who are willing to open a business like everyone else - by carefully saving money working for someone before taking the risk-everything leap into the regulation, insurance, city ordinance, marketing, tax and time-robbing hell that owning a small business has become? The boarded up storefronts tell the real story about the militants - they are takers not givers.
Mamas don’t let you babies grow up to be thugs.
Don’t let them steal and shove store owners.
Make ‘em be honest and responsibile and such.
But they should never surrender...
How about giving up thuggish behavior? Is that too much to ask?
“Our sons” by other mothers.
The Obama-Holder demagogues and race-grievance industry don't care about facts -- regardless of the outcome in Ferguson.
So I ask the Obama-Holder U.S. Dept. of Just Us demagogues and the race-grievance industry, what about us whites? But of course that eliminates exploiting race which is more important than any poor victim.
The ARD data show that whites are more likely to die while being arrested and IMO there is no doubt that some of those deaths were the intention of the police.
To be fair to the police I bet that policemen don't care about race compared to protecting themselves from being killed or maimed.
Arrest-Related Deaths, 2003-2009 - Statistical Tables
"From 2003 through 2009, a total of 4,813 deaths were reported to the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) Arrest-Related Deaths (ARD) program."
Of these, about 6 in 10 deaths (2,931) were classified as homicide by law enforcement personnel, and 4 in 10 (1,882) were attributed to other manners of death.

To me this shows that it is not a racial thing. It happens to all races. These figures however do not show those thought "murdered" by police. I have not yet located data for recent years. Why can't I find data for recent years? I do not know.. maybe the Dept of Just Us and Race-Grievance Industry don't want it known that whites are the most likely to die being arrested.
And yes it is to be expected that more whites die while being arrested because there are at least more than six times as many whites as blacks.
Which brings me to another table I am wont to post..
considering that whites outnumber blacks by at least six-to-one aren't these figures a bit out of whack?

I did not find data for the years 1996 through 2003
www.fbi.gov About Us CJIS UCR Crime in the U.S. Here's the links to most of the FBI tables I referenced above.
If some of you are tired of me being tired of the lies and misrepresentations by the Obama-Holder demagogues and the race-grievance industry this will really tick you off. I'm going whole hog now and posting my favorite tables of all.. IMO proof that the Obama-Holder demagogues and the race-grievance industry don't really want an honest discussion. The four right-most columns on the Offenders table are my addition. The FBI tables do not contain those columns. I added those columns to show a dearth of white offenders vis-a-vis white victims and just the opposite for blacks who show a dearth of victims vis-a-vis black offenders.
It is only a guess on my part but are tens of thousands of black offenders helping us lazy white offenders to victimize whites? We really don't need that kind help and consideration.

Fake surrenders ... Not a good idea. Ever.
Monday is the big day of disobedience.
Protesters are training to rush police departments.
On Friday night, the large crowd of about 600 pushed up on the Ferguson PD parking lot and switched from “Our streets” to “Our building”.
Can’t imagine what would be inside that protesters might want...>sarc<
St. Louis Post Dispatch reports it was a Smith and Wesson recovered.

Tomorrow is going to be ate up like a warm soup sandwich, no pun intended.
Weeks of trying to provoke the cops hasn't delivered the result they need, so now they are resorting to this? Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
and everyone but the blacks themselves are supposed to fix it for them.
this is why welfare needs to be cut off. people need to learn to work together and learn how to do things and not expect others to fix it for them.
There is a hardcore group who want a confrontation and they are going to get it.
When Tef Poe says things like “Don’t come to Ferguson unless you are prepared to die!” sounds like martyrdom to me.
Kinda reminds one of a certain peaceful religion...
