I thought it took 48 hours to run the test?

From what I have read, it appears it is difficult to be sure negative results until the 21 days has past.

I have not read of any false positives, only false negative from the Virus not yet building up in enough quantity or symptoms.

The article says up to 48 hours. I’ve seen from a CDC website it takes 3~4 hours. But you have to get the sample to a testing lab, get the trained tester, etc...

And there are several different test, even for the early stage.

When Specimens Should Be Collected for Ebola Testing at CDC

Ebola virus is detected in blood only after the onset of symptoms, usually fever. It may take up to 3 days after symptoms appear for the virus to reach detectable levels. Virus is generally detectable by real-time RT-PCR from 3-10 days after symptoms appear.

Specimens ideally should be taken when a symptomatic patient reports to a healthcare facility and is suspected of having an Ebola exposure. However, if the onset of symptoms is <3 days, a later specimen may be needed to completely rule-out Ebola virus, if the first specimen tests negative.

Lies...lies...lies! The report from See-BS is garbage. The lamestream media is covering for hussein. If the drivebys say he doesn’t have O’bola — what does he really have?

Once the laboratory test is — once the blood is obtained, we usually can get — we usually get a test result back within 24 hours. Once we have it in the laboratory it’s very quick. It just takes a few hours. Between the time of the transport of the specimen to the laboratory. There’s a relatively fast turn around. I would say within a day people have the results.

We all know someone who sprays spit as he talks....I can recall getting flack like that right in my eye...what if that idiot can expose us? I have no confidence that they can contain this. I would love to be proven wrong. But so far, it’s like the Keystone cops are in charge.

I pray this police officer does not have Ebola and will recover unevenfully.

if it’s so hard to catch, then why have so many Ebola professionals died of it?

Overwork leads to tiredness. Tiredness leads to carelessness. Carelessness leads to infection.

For the Spanish nurse, this path it seems to be.

It probably helps that Texas is one of the 13 states with a Ebola Testing Lab certified by the CDC.

Probably a particularly nasty flu making the rounds in Dallas. It’s a miserabe one but generallly non-fatal unless you haave a weakened immune system (elderly, very young, etc.).

Dallas-area deputy does not have Ebola

The Dallas County Deputy who showed up to an urgent care facility yesterday complaining
of symptoms of Ebola has tested negative for the virus, the Department of State Health
Services announced Thursday.

Next news out of Texas:

After Deputy Michael Monnig was sent to the oozing infected apartment, he was given an assignment at the local elementary schools as part of their school safety orientations.

He may have passed for now....

, but I will not believe it until he has passes 21 days and no reaction.

According to WHO (World Health Organization) it DOUBLES every 21 days, because it generally takes 21 days detected. Once you have it.... You may have 2 to 3 weeks at the most. I have heard the death rate, in some reports, are as high as 90%. Now that may be true in 3rd world countries, but what's going to happen when they all come here and over whelm our heath system.

Sorry but it can sit undetected for 21 days. Just because he passed in 7 days DOES NOT mean he is in the clear.

Personally I think it's NUTS.... they sent a Deputy to a KNOWING the guy had Ebola, without a Hazmat suit.

YOU KNOW, there is a stand down order at the border and West Africans???

So when things get very soon will get worse soon....then people will demand more government control.

We can still stop it at this point, but I don’t know about 6 weeks from now.

The time is NOW. Not to wait... while it spreads undetected as the WHO (World Health Organization) says it operates.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...
