She is just plain horrible. In all of America, I believe she may be the most “full of themselves” person. Seriously she just thinks her crap doesn’t stink.

Mariah wouldn’t be the first singer to have to change her approach to an aging voice.

...

Aging male rockers hire female backup singers.

Well,at least she ain't singing to a tape. That being said I told to my wife Mariah Carey sings like Johnny Wiesmullers Tarzan yell. Years ago I watched a divas special on TV and Mariah tried to out sing Aretha Franklin. Ms.Carey didn't even come close. Aretha blew her away.

Heard this morning.

I have a 4 octave voice and use to sing semi-professional.

Some days ain’t nothing working.

You can hear pitch and make tone and bonus: can’t hit a high note.

Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can’t help but cry. I mean I’d love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.

Mariah Carey

She’s probably doing drugs. Gee what a surprise. I don’t understand this arse kissing of one hit wonders today anyway, what is the deal with that? In the past a band or singer would have one hit and you would never hear from them again unless they got another hit song. Today it’s one hit and they get relentlessly promoted for the next 100 years.

It wouldn't surprise me that she is so caught up in her own manufactured persona and the accompanying fame that she simply does not do any regular work or exercise to maintain her instrument. A mortal sin amongst singers. You must use it or you will lose it.

And such a sin to waste such a gift.

I am not a fan of the pop genre, more death metal and I have fronted a local band. Does she deal with a vocal coach?there are some good ones out there. The one I am most familiar with is Mellisa Cross, who works with the whole gamut from opera to pop to extreme metal.

I do not know of 1 song by her.
I can name many others but practically none from the last 20 years (not counting some country songs) as the lyrics and music are not memorable. Just a mishmash of noise.

I’ve sung for about twenty years and feel I have a pretty good idea what is going on here. Singing is work, it is physcial, emotional, and very much mental. You have to be motivated and have confidence enough to relax and let it flow, otherwise you lose pitch and tone, and suffer problems connecting registers and top and bottom. Her husband just dumped her while cheating on her less than two months ago— she is going through a rough time, probably depressed, not working out, not doing any voice training and completely unmotivated with her head not in the game. Maybe drinking and other unhealthy habits in the mix. I wish her the best.
