Newly released images created from NASA satellite data illustrate the staggering effect the California drought has had on groundwater supply in the state. As Mashable's Patrick Kulp explains, the images show the amount of water lost over the past 12 years, with different colors indicating severity over time. Nobody has any idea how disastrous its going to be, Mike Wade of California Farm Water Coalition told the Associated Press, as RT reports a growing number of communities in central and northern California could end up without water in 60 days due to the Golden states prolonged drought. While California is bearing the brunt, experts note "We're seeing it happening all over the world, in most of the major aquifers in the arid and semi-arid parts of the world."
California is currently experiencing the third year of one of the most severe short term droughts ever recorded. Data from U.S. Drought Monitor shows that as of Sept. 30, 82% of the state is facing extreme or exceptional drought conditions.

OMG! It went from “green”, to “yellow”, to “red” - in only 12 years.
What comes after “red”? The mind boggles.
Natures hint for everyone there to move before she reclaims it by flooding it with the sea when the big one comes.
If you drive through Southern California you see new construction everywhere - mostly apartments. Why are building permits still issued???
The Pacific is rising. Invest in solar desalinization.
Any place that has a genuine water shortage would outlaw manicured lawns and sprinkler systems for anything but agriculture.
A yard full of native flora (i.e. weeds and wild grasses) does not require artificial watering.
When the drought gets so bad that even the delta smelt dies off, then perhaps California can start thinking rationally about water supply.
It’s going to rain like hell this winter.
They knew this would happen with that runoff. Then using the drought to get the global warming sheep to donate. All about the dollar.
I wonder what they do with all that condensate water from those ac units
Nobody knows. The photo proves nothing. Article is total BS. Much like the polar ice is melting and the polar bears are all going to die.
I thought Barry and the ‘RATS said that the illegal alien invaders would stop these water shortages by causing “da conomy” to “boom”.
“Mexico might start looking pretty good to some of it’s awol citizens. “
Nope. California gives them essentially free apartments and food. Why should they go back to Mexico where there is literally no job and no prospect of one?
VDH has written about Cal. diverting rivers back to the sea and tearing down dams to save fish......Just as ALGORE goes so does the progressives' dream.
on the other hand you have..
the whole state of California might dry up and blow away.
I’m sorry, but that is such a ridiculous comment.
If not us, who? If not now, when?

And new housing developments keep getting approved by local jurisdictions. When the question is asked where will the waer come from the answer is our studies (funded by the developer) show we have ample water supply.
Meanwhile, the water tables are dropping and in some areas the wells have dried up completely.
Gosh, my green grass turns yellow and brown but Kalifornia is in real trouble. Theirs turned red!
