Duncan was screened three times before he boarded his flight in Liberia to Brussels....

The first screening was at the gate, before you get to the parking lot.

The second time before you enter the terminal building.

The third before you board the flight.

At every point your temperature is scanned.

His temperature at those checkpoints was a consistent 97.3 degrees Fahrenheit, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention chief Thomas Frieden told reporters Thursday.

But he 'lied' on the questionnaire twice saying he had not been around any infected Ebola Patients.

Louise, the woman he was living with, and her family are in isolation with sheets and towels used by the Ebola-stricken Duncan, Cooper said...... Louise did use bleach to clean her apartment,... "but it's not clear to me how systematic the cleaning was," he said.

Looks like it was probably a dumb since:

Authorities are working to find "more suitable living arrangements" for the family, Jenkins said.

It’s actually kind of tough for me to “convict” this guy without knowing what was going through his head. It could be as simple as he just figured he needed to get away from where the danger was if at all possible. I doubt he had any medical training and probably figured that since he felt OK he was just getting the hell out before he caught the disease.

The President of Liberia is making a big deal about him lying on a form - but who knows what advice was really being given over there? Self preservation is a strong force.

The guy probably isn’t some sinister fellow who wanted to “infect America”...he probably just figured he needed to do whatever it took to get the hell out of there before he got infected (not knowing that he already was).

That is exactly why there should be some sort of specific policy put into place about folks traveling here from those high risk places. You can’t expect some delivery driver to be looking at the big picture.

I read that it was paid by some transportation company similar to Fed Ex I guess, but I don’t recall the name of the company.

I did wonder if the company had a company credit card that he maybe used without authorization.

Every one that is not too sick to move that can find a way to pay the fare will be getting the heck out of that area, and it seems like entry to the USA is the easiest and most likely to succeed.

It’s now been about 12 days since he arrived, and 8 days since they admit he had symptoms. Any day now, someone in that apartment may be getting a fever. So the search for a new apartment may be a day late and a dollar short.

It’s been mentioned that the health officials are taking their temperatures twice a day. Wonder what sort of protection they are wearing. Wonder if the security guard is wearing any protective clothing?

I wonder if the populace will put up with much more of this, and I wonder if that fact is part of the plan.

The complex they’re living in is mostly home to newly arrived immigrants from Liberia, Somali, Sudan and India. So probably most are on some form of Gov. aide if not entirely, depending on how long they’ve been here.

I think I read “Louise” has been her 2 yrs. or more and she is also from Liberia... has a total of five children....some who are grown.
