9/11 Not a Tragedy… An Act of War

We Shall Never Forget

The attacks against the United States on New York City’s Twin Towers at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon located just outside of Washington DC in Arlington County, Virginia and Flight 93 on September 11, 2001 was not a tragedy, but an act of war against the United States of America. Tragedy is defined as, “An event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or natural catastrophe.” The flight of planes hijacked by terrorists and flown into the two towers, and the Pentagon, was not a serious accident, a crime, or a natural catastrophe.

That was my first thought. A “Tragedy” is an accidental type event.

A deliberate act such as 9.11 is MURDER, or an act of war. “Tragedy” is *NOT* a proper description of what happened that day. Anyone that refers to it in such a way is insulting each and every person that was harmed that day, along with their loved ones!

Didn’t those killed get money? Don’t insurance companies make war an exclusion?

I think Jonestown was a tragedy of the first magnitude.

Tragedy is a catastrophe that occurs through man’s own failings - King Lear, for example.

Healthy, virile societies do not commemorate and weep over getting their asses kicked.

“Tragedy is a catastrophe that occurs through man’s own failings”

And only if you are a nobleman, ordinary common folks don’t qualify, according to some shakespearian scholars.

That was a mix of Tragedy and murder. What happened there was damn near unspeakable! ALL of those children were clearly murdered, along with many of the adults. That Jones guy was a hyper-leftwing kook of the highest order.

At least leftism and fear was his rhetorical vehicle. Being in San Francisco and all, he could have just been using a message he thought would capture the biggest audience. As with most terrible people, he started out doing good things to build support. I have the impression that his ‘congregation’ was made up of liberal rejects and minorities that felt disenfranchised. He basically played on their weaknesses, to the point they followed him out into the middle of a dammed jungle to live(until they didn’t)....

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? It’s pretty much the same way with westerners who defect to fight for the al Qaedas or ISIS’s of the world. Weak-minded, sorry SOB’s with an axe to grind being welcomed into a faction from which revenge can be exacted. I guess the difference between Jonestown and the others mentioned is that Jonestown just wanted to be left alone until Jones and his cohorts became homicidal and then suicidal, which is still a lot like these terrorist groups.
