EU - has banned our vacuum cleaners and this is only the beginning

Bureaucrats too young to remember the cold war are now turning Europe into a communist state, Putin must be laughing

London, England –“That’s it! I’ve had it. I am voting UKIP (the party that wants separation from the EU) from now on!” my husband exclaimed to me this weekend when yet another store was out of stock of the high powered vacuum we wanted to buy before they were banned. He has been a Tory all his life, but this personal intrusion into how we decide to consume is consuming him with anger.

As of this past Monday it is illegal to import or manufacture vacuum cleaners over 1600 watts in the EU and by 2017 that will go down to 900 watts. We might as well start thinking about 18th century carpet beaters or installing stone floors and sweeping them.

So... vacuum cleaners offend muslims? Certainly that must be a player, because the constant striving to avoid offending them seems to drive every other policy.

Man does that suck. Er, no I guess it doesn’t. Guess we’ll have to leave it up to the libs to do that.

The new eco-friendly vacuum uses half the power, and takes three times as long to do the job.

What’s wrong with that?

Half the power? thats great! What an improvement!

And it only takes 3 times.as.long? Oh wait....hey! it’s using more power than the “high power” units!

Reminds my of my “water saving” toilet...

Like filling a gallon bucket with a restricted faucet. But look at all the water you are saving.

You know, comes a time, you just say eff the bastages. Manufacture the powerful vaccuums anyways. Resist with lethal force any attempt to shut you down.

Seventeen years ago, we fell for the Kirby sales pitch, and shelled out close to $1,000 for a vacuum.

But I still have that Kirby...haven’t bought another vacuum since.

Looks like I may have to keep it forever.

I’ll have to check the wattage...I’m pretty sure that just about everything in the US is 1,500 watts max anyway.

My daughter and I were just talking about this kind of stuff last night. She and her hubby bought a brand new ‘energy efficient’ home. The toilets all have a 2 system flush, one for pee one for poo. They had problems with them plugging right away. The builder sent someone out to fix the system. He told them Do NOT use the pee function for flushing ever. Apparently there is not enough water running through the system with that function to even clear the toilet paper out and the whole house was clogging up. lol

Keep a 5 gallon bucket next to the toilet and use the bathtub faucet to fill it up and dump a good 5 gallon flush down the line ever week or so... Or do it if the “flush” seems sluggish..

That is what i do and it keeps the clogs away...

The Vaccum worked in the lab conditions.... they turned it on and it used less juice so therfore “good”....

Liberalism is turning the whole world into the labratory due a major lack of beta testing because they think they are never wrong...

If it were me I’d just replace all the toilets to ones that actually flush. Problem solved.

It’s all about control and rubbing peoples’ noses in it (just to give them daily reminders about who is in control and to thoroughly acquaint them with the penalties associated with resistance).

Capitalism gives people choices. That translates to control over their own lives and commies don’t like that. They may not be able to impose full-fledged totalitarian control over every aspect of your life - yet. But it doesn’t mean they can’t practice. Hence, they tell you what kind of vacuum cleaner you can buy, what kind of light bulb you can screw into the ceiling, what kind of car you can drive, and what kind of toilet you can throw up in when you can’t take it anymore.

That's as ridiculous as replacing incandescent bulbs that have served us well for over 100 years with curly-Q bulbs containing mercury...
