Epidemiology is not an amateur sport. The *only* way that many Americans could even be exposed to Ebola would be in a concerted, militarized virus attack with a delivery system.

100,000 in Africa, perhaps. But non-issue in the West.
Aircraft from effected regions are still landing in Europe.
United is still running a 787 5X a week to Lagos out of Houston.
Delta flies to Dakar, Accra,and Lagos. It is cancelling it’s Monrovia service at the end of Sept, but it is still flying, right now.
WHY ARE WE STILL FLYING THERE???

Now I suppose that approach to Ebola will be racist.

Bring Out Your Dead

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
It’s all in the mutation factor. Could go airborn.
