Jesse Ventura has won the defamation lawsuit he filed against the widow of Chris Kyle, Navy SEAL and author of American Sniper. Somehow he convinced a jury that his reputation was sullied when Kyle told the world Ventura acted the fool at another SEALs funeral and then got knocked out.
Ventura said he was suing the widow and kids because of his reputation, not for the money. So setting aside the grotesquerie that he even won, he should refuse to take the cash. He proved his case, he was vindicated, so he should be the "big man" he claims to be and leave the money to the family.

He may have been awarded the money, but he may never actually see a cent. Remeber that lady who sued McDonalds over spilling coffee on her self? She sued and was awarded millions, but never collected. We could all go buy this book that Jessee is talking about, thus making this woman richer by the minute. Then she could donate the award to a fund for SEALS and their families, much like Backstoppers for cops. That way he couldn’t collect without looking like more of a complete a—hole that what he already does.
Contrary to her husband’s repeated claims that they would donate all the money from the book and that he’d already donated significant amounts, she testified at trial they’d donated just a few thousand. What makes you think she’d donate more now?
He should ask for enough to cover lawyers fees and ONE DOLLAR—just to prove his case. Anything else is greedy and makes him seem like a Jerk.
A bigger man would've dropped the lawsuit upon hearing of Steven's death. That act by itself would've restored his already "tarnished" reputation in this matter.
Instead, Jesse Ventura chose to sue his widow and two small children "to make a point."
Conclusion: Jesse Ventura is a world-class POS and a uniquely special kind of JERK.
