A few weeks ago I was visiting friends in Tennessee. We went to a scenic spot, where I got some pictures of the mountains. I saw a man with his back to the mountains, holding a cell phone out in front of him. I wondered what he was taking a picture of, until it dawned on me he was taking a selfie with the mountains as background. What have we come to?

At Yellowstone, I put my little pocket digital camera on the mono-pod, held the bottom end and extended it out over Artists falls lookout point. Everyone around me was like OOOH what a great idea, look at that.
Turned out cool. This was 2009. So been there done that. It’s called a mono-pod.
