One year after being outed as illiterate in the trial, Jeantel is a changed woman after graduating from high school. She hopes to get a college degree, too.
She did it for Trayvon.
One year after being outed as illiterate in the George Zimmerman murder trial, Trayvon Martin's friend Rachel Jeantel is a changed woman after graduating from high school.
Jeantel underwent seven hours of tutoring a day after her reading skills were ridiculed when she testified during the Florida trial last year at age 19. At the time, she had a fourth-grade reading level.
"Very, very, very tough," she told ABC News of the tutoring. "That's what I needed."
With the help of friend and lawyer Rod Vereen, who arranged the tutoring, she hopes to graduate college one day.

I kept my word to Trayvon that I would do this," Jeantel told CNN, through Vereen.
She also had harsh words for Zimmerman, who was acquitted after he admitted to gunning down Martin in February of 2012.
"To me, youre not a man," she told CNN. "George Zimmermans not a man. Thats still a little boy with a grown body."
“Turns Life Around”??
Can she read cursive now?
Aspiring rapper?
Humiliation = Making someone learn.....
No wonder our schools went to hell when they stopped spanking in school....
Rachel has a grown body too.
She gonna b a brane sergon to all dem craxy wite crakers?
Is anyone glad that she buckled down and attempted to make something of herself? Or is that not allowed in conservative thought?
George Zimmermans not a man. Thats still a little boy with a grown body.” <<..HUH?
Cute, if you like that type.
“To me, youre not a man,” she told CNN. “George Zimmermans not a man. Thats still a little boy with a grown body.”
Yes, a real man would have let Trayvon beat him to death. The sad thing is morons like this can vote.
I hope it’s all true but I’m not convinced of the great transformation.

She wouldn’t have been “humiliated” if she had kept her mouth shut and just nodded or shook her head when asked a question.
Good job Rachel. Keep it up.
Good for her.
That suggests she has not turned her life around at all.
My personal opinion is that she lied during the trial and is lying now. Time will tell whether she has actually “turned her life around”. I won’t be holding my breath waiting for that to happen.
If she’s still in Treyvon’s corner, it doesn’t look like she learned very much.
